Logitech S120 2.0 Stereo Speakers, Black

Here was my criteria for buying computer speakers: - Budget friendly speakers for my work computer. - Best quality possible for the price point. - Must work right out of the box and be easy to use. - Volume control a must. - Headphone jack also a must since most of the time I will be using headphones as not to distract my co-workers. Originally, a co-worker gave me a new Logitech S150 USB Speakers with Digital Sound . However, I ended up purchasing the S120 speakers here on Amazon, and giving the S150 USB speakers away to another co-worker. Here's why: - Obviously the Logitech S150 does not come with the volume control knob, nor does it have the headphone jack. (But the S120 has both of these features). - The Logitech S150 model is USB. The S120, which I prefer, have the plug that goes into the green jack in the back of most computers. I consider my work computer a dinosaur (it is Windows XP). It had problems with the USB speakers. The volume, which could only be set by the computer's volume meter in the control panel, was all over the place. Like other comments I read, I had issues with the USB speakers since I primarily use my headphones. These issues involved the headphones not silencing the USB speakers. With the Logitech S120, when I insert my headphones, the speakers go silent (as expected). The USB S150 are "buggy" at best. The S120 works as you would expect them to. - One more note about the S150 USB speakers. I often found myself having to reboot my computer after inserting or removing the USB speakers. They really are buggy and messed up the sound settings on the computer. Rebooting, of course, seemed to fix the issue until I unplugged or replugged the USB speakers in again. Such a hassle. - Since I primarily use my headphones to listen to music while at my work computer, I am more comfortable with the Logitech S120 model. Like most headphones, the cord is really short. Before, I had to plug my headphones into the computer, which sits on the floor. This gave me a short "leash" of movement. Now, I bring these speakers out close to my computer keyboard, and plug the headphones into the speakers. I don't feel like I have short-leash syndrome anymore. - The S120 speakers, in my opinion, sound better than the S150 model and also cost a little less too! Since I'm in a work environment, I'm not going to be BLASTING these speakers (not ever). However, I did "test" them at home, and they can put out a decent amount of volume. I imagine if you BLAST these speakers often, they might not sound as good as they do at lower volumes. - One small "issue" I have noticed with these speakers only occurs when I am using my headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the speakers: In the left channel of the stereo headphones, I sometimes hear a small humming noise. It doesn't happen with the right channel. I've noticed if I move these speakers away from my computer monitor, the humming noise can be eliminated. I assume there must be some time of interference. I consider this a small issue since I can rectify it and also because these are not an expensive home theater entertainment speakers. They are budget speakers. They are what they are. If you need decent sound from small budget computer speakers, these are great. I'm thinking about getting another pair for my wife's laptop (for the times when she's using her laptop at her desk). These speakers are definitely a huge step up from the small speaker in most laptops.

I love to watch movies, listen to music, on my computer but my volume on it isn't very good, I also listen to my audios why working around the home. I had a set kind of like this and was looking for another set because my last one broke from moving it from computer to kitchen listening to my audio. Haven't been able to find any with wall supply this small, not only that the bigger ones which are way too big for my needs were very costly. I need something that was small and didn't take up too much space. When I found this I was very excited, not only is the price right, but they are just the size I need. The only speakers I could find that would work for me were battery ones. I went through a lot of batteries before I found this set. I have bought several products with the Logitech brand over the years and have always been very please with their products. This is no different, they are made to last with heavy plastic that will not break easy, the cords are thick and can take some abuse. The cord between the two speakers is a good distances so you can get more of an all round sound. You are not going to beat this price, I was very surprise to find these so inexpensive that I could buy more for backup. There is no setup you just plug in and turn on easy as can be. I didn't expect them to be high end it wasn't what I was looking for, for me they work great, sound is good quality, and they are prefect for my use. I bought three sets, so I have a back up, They work so great the volume goes louder than I need it which is great you never know when you will need it louder and knew you can go that extra mile if you need to. Thrilled I now have one for my computer and one to set out in the kitchen for when I am working out there. Plus one I can set back or use in the car for my audios. I cannot tell you how excited I am to find this at this price and to have them work so well. I am over pleased and would love to give it more than a five star.

I have to give a tip of the hat to Labtec, I finally retired the set I've had for, I'm pretty sure, 22 years. They started to drop a channel out fairly often and I'd have to fiddle with the connectors to get it back for a while, the connectors were staticky when touched or moved, it was time (ya think) to replace them. But, damn, gotta give it to them for how long they served me. Now, on to these speakers... Ok, I'm not a gamer, so I don't need/want a 27 channel, surround-sound, system with a bass able to empty all the shelves in the room, or tweeters capable of shattering wine glasses at 10 paces. While I'll occasionally play some music, my volume is more for background than for hosting a rave. I'll watch movies, but I don't need the theater experience, I don't need to be knocked back in my seat when something blows up. I just want some speakers that are clear and I can understand what people are saying in anything I watch. I am very pleased with these speakers, the sound is very clear and sharp, the small backgrounds sounds in scenes are reproduced nicely and can be heard cleanly. Turning the volume to maximum the sound didn't distort too badly, but did get a little buzzy at 100%, not real bad, but noticeable. I can't say it has a lot of bass to them, though, to be fair, for the size of them, it would be unfair to expect a lot of bass. As I said, the sound does have depth and clarity, and that's more what I'm looking for, so I like them. I set the volume at 100% and use my windows volume slider to control how loud I want them, and my PC has a few presets for different sound styles - movie, gaming, voice, music, auto - so I can get different tones from them, and words comes through clearly. I liked that the transformer is built in so I didn't have that clunky transformer that takes up 2 plug spaces, just a normal plug at the end of the wire. You only have about 6' wiring between the two speakers, so you're not going to be spacing these out very far apart That being said, find the designer that chose the wiring pattern and beat him with a stupid stick! My computer, power strips, and everything, is on my left, so I would be plugging the speakers into my PC, and power strip , on my left side. The speaker with the volume control knob and connector to my PC goes on my left, but the right speaker is the one with the power cord. It JUST reaches my power strip. What? Ya couldn't put both wires on the same side? Other than that little snafu, I'm happy with the sound.

They work well. I have no complaints. Good volume range.

Audio Quality: If you're expecting to get a Bose quality system here, look somewhere else. You can tell that this system is not an eight-speaker surround sound high quality system, but with that aside, it has very nice quality audio. On songs with a lot going on, it can get a bit fuzzy, but quality per dollar, it's probably the best I've ever seen. I bought them for my gaming computer, but not being a serious gamer, I don't care too much about the quality. Even so, this has extremely good audio for size and price. Volume: I've bought plenty of speakers where you top it off and still barely hear the audio in most applications. That is NOT the case with this system. They get plenty loud and I've never had to turn it up all the way, even with quite music or softer YouTube videos. As the volume increases, quality stays about the same, as opposed to a lot of speakers where blasting makes your music sound horrible. Physical: The pictures of the speakers almost made me not want to buy them, but they look a lot better sitting on a desk than in the pictures. The volume knob and standard headphone jack are on the right side of one of the speakers, a bit awkward at first, but I've gotten used to it. The packaging was very nice and secure, and because I bought two sets, they both came in a larger box filled with air pockets, and each individual box filled with bubble wrap (almost as much fun as the speakers). I like the way the cords are set up. The standard headphone jack cord comes off of one, and the power cord comes off of the other. That way, it doesn't seem like one speaker is caught up in a whole bunch of cables. They are nice and small, and fit right beside my monitor. Overview: -Pros: --good quality sound --plenty volume --nice cable setup --small --packaged well --shipped early (3 days with Standard) -Cons: --kind of ugly, though not as bad as the picture --awkward knob location

I got these for my Dad to use with his PC. The quality of the sound is alright and works well as stereo. The control on the physical speakers are very helpful, especially to balance and allow the user to control the device well. However, for the price, the speakers are ok, you can find better for the same price, but if you are wanting decent speaker to work well for your computer, this is one that is great.

These compact speakers sound better than I expected for the price and size. I didn't expect much low-end and that is the case. But the mids and highs are very good ... for the price. I can hear the tom toms and bass, but not a lot of bass drum. And you do need crank them up to get the lows to push out. At very low volume it's all mids and highs. But, did I mention it's better than I expected for the price. I've bought quite a few terrible speakers in the price range. One thing that has thrilled me (I am easily thrilled) is that these don't have a wall-wart power adapter that takes up space on your outlet strip and gets lost. They have a hardwired 120V cord that goes from the plug into the speaker and never gets lost. Lost power wall-warts is a big problem here at my work where I'm responsible for the workstation computers and supplying employees with speakers. The volume control knob rotates all the way to click off the power and a theres bright amber LED power indicator on the speaker that has the 3.5 mm audio cable. The other speaker has the power cord. Speaking of cords, all 3: Power, Audio, cable between the 2 speakers, are about 4 feet long. They could all be slightly longer, but they worked ok on my desk where computer, power strip and monitors are not too far apart. At 4 feet the speaker connecting cable is long enough to put the speakers on each side of one 27" monitor, but not long enough to reach across 2-27" monitors side-by-side. Also, the volume knob controls the volume of headphones plugged into the headphone jack. They're loud enough for music or voice at a desk, and still loud enough to properly annoy your office mates at nearby desks. Not loud enough to fill a large room. Again, perfect for my application. This will be my new office computer speaker of choice. I will buy more.

The older version of these came with a UK mains plug - now it seems a USB one is more common and practical as it saves using another mains socket when linked with a pc. The units are stylish, but not durable - they have failed after only a few years' moderate use. There is no obvious way to repair them, as they appear to be 'factory sealed'- this is environmentally completely unacceptable. Logitech could and should do better.

For $20 these are an amazing set of speakers for your computer. My laptop speakers are far too quiet and suck for video calls/meetings and watching videos. All my problems are solved with these inexpensive yet loud and easy to use, and compact speakers. These are NOT ideal if your main purpose is for playing music as the speakers lack bass but great for everything else.

Does not suit Indian voltage. One will have to purchase a step down transformer as it works on 120 volts
