No, SIM cards do not store photos or videos. It will read the data on SIM cards but that data is very limited.

The reader did not work me. The software link was invalid some could not install driver for the reader. I returned it

Yes, if the contacts are stored to the SIM card, you will be able to retrieve them. Keep in mind that most phones today store contacts to the phone memory and not SIM cards.

Can you use this to get new texts on a computer?

No, this just reads SIM card data. It cannot enable SIM service on computers.

Not working

I have followed all the instructions for installing the software and inserting the SIM card into the reader and although the device (with SIM card inserted and light lit up) is recognized by my PC in the USB drive, the software repeatedly returns the message "please make sure the device and SIM card are ready". Any help at all to get this working is appreciated. May then be able to rate the device!

Worked for my needs

It reads SIM cards but it took a good long while before it started working. I left it overnight and then it suddenly started reading them properly.

This will not work unless you download the app, which is impossible to find. The paperwork that comes with the device offers a fake website address.
