This is a General Comment to Some of the Ans.. Folks- If you "Don't Know", pleeze, don't answer! We're not obligated to ans. anything.  1 . Read the box /bottle ☆Warnings☆ Found Listed-often in Fine Print- on the back or sides of all Cleaning Products  2. Never. Mix.  Additives:  OK to add later,  *after* Rinse. Why: mixing some  products in same load cause noxious/toxic gasses emitted in your home!  3.* Unless instructions state otherwise* products dissolve just fine in the tub as machine fills w/water 4.  Like any top loader, detergent may be added @ anytime, after machine is full or if pressed for time, do Prewash Cycle w/Additive. U can always" Pause" to add your detergent directly into tub-preferably not on contents --Reminder: A little detergent goes a *long* way in Front End Loaders esp. if using Additives.  5. Vinegar is great , used Alone or added to RINSE CYCLE.  Do Not mix vinegar with Borax/Baking Powder/OxyClean, or w/any Peroxide Type  (Non-Bleach) Alternatives simultaneously!  Use 1 product + detergent in wash cycles, 1 product in Rinse Cycle , Rinse Twice. ☆ If you have pets, birds,fish,  mixing the wrong products will emit noxious gasses which may cause serious  upper-respiratory problems; Similarly for yourself & youngsters. Adding too much or too many to ultra-sensitive Front End Loaders also creates abundance of suds which  (a) Can ruin clothing (b) Will take hours+ H2O to rinse out +clean machine (c) Causes mold (d) Eventually destroys motor.  When in doubt REVISIT *your* Washing Machine's Instructions. Read box&bottle WARNING , Rule of Thumb  ☆LESS is BEST☆

Yes, it can be used on hardwood floors and here’s the procedure 
Fill a large bucket with 1 gallon of hot water.
Add 1/3 cup of borax, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, and 1/2 cup of vinegar to the hot water and swirl with a long spoon or your gloved hand until borax dissolves.
Saturate mop or sponge in borax mixture.
Mop floors with the borax solution in the direction of the wood grain.
Rinse the borax solution off the floor with clean, damp mop or sponge.
