Great and afforadble monthly wormer for dogs! See dosage below
If you're interested I've also done a youtube video all about worming, including using ivermectin paste! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_WAtMO7QFU&index=3&list=PLi-Fp9L1w7VXYbtndn7_K8uOck_XoYo4t I have purchased (and written a review on dosage) for the Ivermectin sold by this company for use on dogs as a heartworm preventative Ivermectin Paste Dewormer - 6.08g dose @ 1.87% . Pyrantel is also found in monthly heartworm pills such as Hartguard; this product will not kill heartworms, but it will kill and prevent further infestation of roundworms and hookworms found in dog feces. For the initial treatment give one full dose followed by another dose two weeks later, then give monthly after that for prevention. This product is more concentrated than liquid pyrantel suspensions Pyrantel 50mg 16oz ; you will have to give your dog a large quantity (making administration harder) if you use the liquid, and it can also be hard to administer since it is unflavored. It is also sold in much larger quantities (making it more expensive) and if you only have one dog like me you'll end up wasting more than half the product. If you have several large dogs, definitely purchase that product! If not this will last you until the expiration date (about 2 years). This option is significantly cheaper than pyrantel tablets for dogs, also sold on Amazon and in petsmart, etc Worm X Plus Med & Lrg Dog 12-Count . DOSAGE: The proper dosage in dogs for pyrantal is 2.5 milligrams (mg) per pound. Double if your dog's worms are resisting treatment. Per the packaging, this product contains 171 mg/ml pyrantel. Here is a sample calculation for my puppy, who weighs 35 lbs. 35 lbs x 2.5 mg/lb x 1 ml/171 mg = ~ .5 ml of this product (or double for resistant worms). In simpler terms, your dog needs .015 ml per pound (ie multiply your dogs weight by .015 to get the dosage in mls). If your dog or puppy is very small (less than 10 lbs) it will be too hard to measure; in this case, purchase the more dilute liquid, or the tablets if you don't mind the higher price tag. Before measuring squeeze the product out of the tube into a glass, airtight container for storage (I use a mason jar) label with expiration, dosage, and contents and store in a cool dark place at room temp. I measure with 1 cc syringe (available for purchase on Amazon as well, I got mine free from my pharmacy). Measure -slowly- to avoid sucking up air bubbles (which will lower your volume and thus the dose). Be sure to wash the syringe after each use! My puppy does not love to take this paste, but the small amount makes administration easy enough! Yes many will tell you (likely including your vet) that you should not be using a product for horses on your dog. As a biochem grad I am here to tell you that a chemical is a chemical; the same pyrantel in the 'approved' tablets is the same drug in this product. My puppy has had no adverse reactions; dose correctly and you should be fine! Feel free to ask questions if you need any clarification, I am more than willing to help. Happy worming!

The horse says it works
After a week of use nothing seemed to change. Continued with a binder and the following week, the horse looked like it pooped out noodles. So, the horse decided to try another round. Hope said horse gets get results.

Important part of yearly worming rotation.
Ye old dependable! Routine care and maintenance staple. With some adjustability or if you do fecal counts, the basic yearly routine is: February: Pyrantel Pamoate (Strongid) April: Fenben is Safeguard (good stuff, my fave lol) June: Ivermectin August: 1 Pyrantel Pamoate (Strongid) October: Fenben is Safeguard (good stuff) December: Praziquantel (Quest Plus/Zimectrin/Equimax) The only one I avoid is Quest Plus (Moxidectin) as it is questionable/still hotly debated in pregger or lactating mares and sometimes foals. Not that the girls are, but I don't mess with their reproductive at all. The other two options with the Praziquantel in it do not contain the Moxi.
