They chip if you aren't careful, and the color rubs off on my hand, but they work well and wash out great. I like the choice of colors so you have at least one color that will work on any fabric you choose.

Good choice of colors for different materials. The chalk is soft and marks easily on fabric. The softness makes it susceptible to breakage, but only one of the ten pieces was broken and that had only minimal damage, the rest of the piece still marked and I even was able to use the little pieces that broke off. Pieces are easy to grip when using. I would buy again.

I like the colors as I have a choice. However, the item itself is easily breakable and you definitely need the holder. Dont use on starched quilted fabric, you wont be able to remove the chalk

Finally a chalk that works easily on any type of fabric. The colors turn out really great and follow my ruler without having to go back and make it darker. Although they are thin they last long but be careful I broke the first one out of the container because they are thin. Now I’m more careful and have used it many times with no problems. As a beginner learning to sew I’ve tried many types of markers and chalk and this is by far the best. To remove I used a damp washcloth on a lace dress and it came off easily. On the hems you don’t see it. I did iron over it for the hem and it did come off a bit but still enough was left that it didn’t make a difference.

BLECHE!!! These break so easy - what a waste of $$

What I've been looking for in stores for a while but couldn't find. Even before JoAnne's went under they didn't have tailors chalk like this (but the fabric folks knew what I was looking for.) There and other places just had fancy/messy powdered chalk with metal dispensers. I've never met a tailor that used such. These little triangles are what I know and love, and they're a lot less expensive! Some times old, tried, and true solutions beat supposed innovation. This is one of those cases. It works well. It's easy to use. It's relatively inexpensive. It doesn't tie one into a particular companies refills because there's nothing pricey to refill/loose/trash just chalk! These are a little thinner than some, but that means that they'll leave sharp lines. Maybe left lying around they could break more easily, but not a problem so far.

Works for awhile, but most of the chalk I have is chipped or broken in half because the chalk is so thin and soft, especially when you hold it or if you accidentally knock against something. It's fine for the price because I get so many colors, but if I could go back I would just buy a better brand. The parts that fall off are sometimes too small to even use. Also, the case is cheaply made, I wish it would snap shut and hold the chalk more precisely / tightly, so it doesn't fall out.

These work really well. Other chalks are too smooth and you have to press very hard to get any markings on the fabric but these are just right - literally chalk. They are quite thin so it wouldn't take much to snap one if you were clumsy but they are good value for money and do the job well.
