SABRENT PS5 Heatsink

If your a PS5 owner and looking for a heatsink for your new ssd expansion then look no further. This Sabrent heatsink is a great choice! It fits the Playstation 5 expansion slot like a glove. It's super easy to install and comes with clear instructions. Once it's physically installed your good to go, no firmware updates or formatting needed. It works with any brand ssd that you choose to go with, so not just the Sabrent brand. So far the heatsink is doing its job perfectly. Before I got the Sabrent heatsink I was using a much cheaper type and whilst transferring a bunch of games im pretty sure it caused the ssd to overheat, initially it said 40mins left till complete the transfer, I checked back half hour later and it had changed to a crawling 99+ hours. Since getting this new heatsink installed iv tested the ssd with similar circumstances and it handled it all like a boss. Honestly, I was surprised how much of a difference it made. I am 100% recommending this product for anyone with a PS5 and planning a storage upgrade, it's worth the little bit of extra cash to keep your ssd and PS5 running smoothly.

Since I installed this with a Crucial 1TB SSD, the sounds it’s made has drastically decreased. I do believe that it has helped to cool down the temperature of the PS5. I’d 100% recommend this due to its really simple install

Was having problems with my PS5 overheating on long sessions, bought one of these and it hasn't overheated again since. Very easy to install, just pop the side off and unscrew the expansion bay cover and screw this into its place. Well worth a try if you've been experiencing overheating with your PS5.

About double the cost of most other non-branded items but I prefer a professional brand and Sabrent is well respected. The item is sturdy well built and fitted perfectly.

If you've hit the storage issue that PS5's have (not enough of it for these HUGE games) then you'd have bought a NVMe SSD drive. If your SSD doesn't come with a built in heatsink, then you NEED this, work like magic, easy to install and works very efficiently... Ran the PS5 continuously over a 38hr gaming marathon playing demanding AAA titles from SSD and the temperature didn't spike at all. If you have an SSD, you NEED this.

I have used this for 18 months in the OG PS5 Disc Edition and it fitted and worked well with my WD Black 4TB SSD. The heatpad made good contact with the SSD and it looks classy. My score is for using it on the original PS5. Read other reviews for how it performs on the Slim. Now some caveats: However, I have migrated to the PS5 Pro and there are two major issues migrating the SSD and heatsink: 1) The shape does not fit the SSD well properly. It will screw down, but leaves gaps. 2) More importantly, I don’t believe the thermal pad now makes contact with the SSD and I get storage that overheats and data transfers slow to a crawl. I assume the ssd cavity is a little deeper. I hope Sabrent issue a new design for the PS5 Pro, and I will have to resort to a different solution in the meantime.
