A Tiny Bluetooth Earbud with Good Range & Wireless Charging
This little bluetooth earbud is pretty much everything I want. It is very light, very small, has exceptional battery life, is easy to charge, can connect with multiple devices at once, switching between them on the fly, and doesn't hurt your ear because it is held in only by the rubber bud. PROS: Extremely Small Good Bluetooth Range Loud Long Battery Life (4+ Hours Easily) Wireless Charging (sort of) Two USB Chargers Connects with Multiple Devices CONS: Sub-par Sound Quality Can Fall Out of Ear Honestly, there is little more that I would want from this earbud. Does it fall out of your ear sometimes like others have been complaining? Yes, if you are walking or running, you'll probably have to push it back in with some frequency. That doesn't mean it comes flying out unexpectedly, it just shakes loose, just like most other earbuds, and that's why some designs have rubber attachments that wrap around your ears. However, I didn't buy that model, I bought this one, and having to push the bud back in from time-to-time is far less annoying than having to strap on a crazy hearing-aid style wrap-around, personally. Also, since it comes with three different sized rubber earbuds, it is moderately customizable to your ear. The "wireless charging" is awesome. How it works is the little USB chargers have two prongs in the center of an indentation that has a magnet behind it. The earbud sticks to the magnet and slides onto the prongs. If you practiced, you probably could throw it at the charger and have it start charging. I really can't stress how simple it is to attach, it's mildly magical. The magnet latches on and about a second later, the blue LED on the earbud turns and you know it is charging. Pairing it with a bluetooth device is simple: When the earbud is off, hold down the button for about 5 seconds. At about second 3 you'll hear a slightly accented voice say "Device On" and then at second 5 it says "Device Ready to Pair" (I may be paraphrasing here). At that point you need to tell your bluetooth source (be it your phone, or your laptop, GPS, car, whatever) to start searching for a bluetooth device, and it should find a GoNovate G8 and then pair up after about 5 seconds or so. Then the voice will say "Device Connected" and you may even see the G8's power bar on your bluetooth source's screen. I can confirm it does this with the iPhone 5s, but does not with the MacBook Pro, for whatever reason. You can have the G8 paired with multiple devices and run them simultaneously. HOWEVER: It will play audio from only ONE at a time. So you could be listening to music played by your computer, that would be interrupted when your phone gets a call, for example. Not as cool as playing both at the same time, but still useful. Basic operation of the G8 is pretty simple: Hold down the little button for 3 seconds to turn it, listening for the voice prompt. You can pause or play music by clicking the button briefly. You can answer calls by clicking the button, or deny them by holding the button for 2 seconds. Plus, like starting it, you shut it down by holding down the button for 3 seconds. That's it. Just 1 button with different hold times, and everything is identified using voice prompts. MY ONLY NEGATIVES: Firstly: The sound quality isn't great on this thing. I would describe it as a bit "muddy", with a lot of different tones bleeding into each other. High notes are reasonably crisp, but voices and anything pushing into the bass ranges tend to lose distinction. Personally, I use the G8 to listen to podcasts, which don't require great sound quality. Everything is easy to hear and understand, but you aren't going to want to listen to complicated orchestral pieces on it. The G8 is designed for convenience and portability, and at $18, it is really cheap. It's not exactly a surprise that it can't match my over-the-ear, Sony Studio Monitor Headphones. What is crazy about modern technology isn't that the G8 isn't as far away from those Sony's as the price would indicate. It's no masterpiece for sound quality, but it is sufficient, and that's a long, long ways away from cheap headphones of twenty-years ago, or even ten, or possible even five-years ago. Secondly: The original shipment arrived with a Flexible USB charger, and a non-adjustable Car USB charger. The Car USB charger worked perfectly, the Flexible USB Charger didn't fit the G8. So I contacted the seller and the immediately shipped me a second Car USB charger, which also works perfectly. I don't know if this is the case for all of the Flexible USB Chargers, but I must commend the seller (in this case: Ken from GoNovate) for rapidly responding and correcting the issue by providing a second Car USB charger for free. Now I have two chargers, as advertised, and they both charge the earbud perfectly. CONCLUSION: It is cheap. Its battery lasts a long time. It is very easy to use and setup. It doesn't hurt your ear. Charging it is very easy. It is cheap. The sound quality is good enough to not be annoying. It can be used by multiple devices. Plus: It is really quite cheap.

Great, unobtrusive light ear piece.
I bought two of these! One in beige and one in black. It does not work as a bluetooth piece to take calls on, but it is great to listen to music, pdocasts, etc. It pairs easily and hasn't pretty solid sound quality. It sounds SO much better than the much more expensive, name brand bluetooth set I use to take calls on. I don't get random interference on this ear bud and the range is pretty decent. I was listening to an audio book, got engrossed in the story and walked outside to take out the trash and I was at least 60 feet from my phone before I began to even notice any break down in the signal and that my phone was still inside my house. The battery life is decent. I go a few days between charges. The only complaint is that when it is low, the automated voice incessantly repeats "battery low", maybe every 30 60 seconds until it dies. I'd rather just have one or two warnings and that just be allowed to enjoy the time I have left listening to my selection before the ear piece just dies. The charging situation is a bit strange. The piece clips magnetically to a USB device that it's included. If you don't have a USB/wall plug adapter, then you can only charge it by putting it into a USB port, which is not always around. I use a $5 charging cube I got from the drug store that plugs into the wall on one end and takes a USB on the other. I have NOT tried charging it by plugging it directly into the USB port in a car, so I don't know how well that works or if that will make the car try to sync with it or something.

Cheap but functional
This is one of those items that you have to approach with lower expectations. It's cheap, which is probably why you're looking at it, so it's not the best. I bought this for the purpose of being able to listen to music and audiobooks in ONE ear without have an extra earbud dangling around. For that it's great. I've also used this while riding my motorcycle. It gets sufficiently loud to listen to an audio book while riding on the highway. The good: Small - easily fits in my ear, under a motorcycle helmet and into a pocket if I need to stash it quickly. Simple - to turn it on and enter pairing mode you just press and hold the home button until it says ready to pair. Battery life - it has enough battery life to get me through the day typically. The downside to the battery life will be below. Charger - it's proprietary but they include two which is a big bonus for me. Volume - plenty of volume, I end up using this at the bottom of the volume levels most of the time. The bad: Phone calls - it's very hit and miss on this depending on background noise. DO NOT rely on this for important calls. Charger - the charger is proprietary, which is standard these days. but since they include two it's ok. Battery life - as I mentioned above the battery life is decent. The bad part is when the battery gets low it announces "Battery Low" every 20 seconds. that is extremely annoying. I think every minute or so would be better. Storage case - somewhat excessive on the thickness but once again, it's cheap. Volume - it's almost too loud at minimum volume if you want to listen to it in bed when it's quiet. The weird: I swear the voice sounds like a Russian woman trying to speak English. I jokingly call it Svetlana

I love it.
First the good. It fits comfortably in my ear. I was surprised by that, I have problems sometimes with ear buds falling out. This one is light and secure for what I use it for. I got it to listen to podcasts and talk radio. I got this one and a different brand. This one is more comfortable and I find the tone more pleasing. I don't care for the way music sounds but that has more to do with listening to music with one ear than the device. My hearing isn't very good anymore and I am apprehensive about using things like headphones and ear buds. If I keep the volume at a low level I find it very easy to listen to speech through this. I mainly use it at work in the lab. I also love the chargers. Its very easy to connect to the contacts. My concern though is that the blue charging light only lights up for a few seconds. I'm not sure if it's really charging. I only use it for 2 or 3 hours and so far it has not run down the past few days that I've used it. I am going to see how long it lasts before it runs down, and see if it will recharge. Apparently this is an issue for a few users judging from the reviews. Hopefully it will not malfunction. I like this one so much I may get another as a backup, hopefully customer service will make it good though. If I have no issues in a few weeks I will bump my review to 5 stars. Other than the questionable charging issue it's perfect. eta: It's humming along just fine. I think the issue with the charging was because it wasn't run down enough to need to charge long. I've been using this for over a week now, it's been great! Update #3. I love this thing so much I got another! I get 6 hours of talking. I even used it answering the phone a couple of times and when I asked people how I sounded they could hear me just fine. I really love the charger. So much easier than the micro USB. I got 3 different ear buds and this one is the best. I'm surprised at how far the Bluetooth goes. I can go anywhere in the lab and not disconnect.

Was very satisfied....until it BROKE AFTER 4 USES!!!
PROS: - lightweight and comfortable - connects quickly - long battery life - pretty good sound quality CONS: - broke after only 4 uses! - customer service was completely unhelpful BACKGROUND: I purchased the GoNovate earbud because I was intrigued by the thought of having a small bluetooth earbud that was discrete, carried a long battery life, and had seemingly strong reviews. I expected to use this while walking about, and even while driving (since it is only in one ear) to listen to audio books mostly, and occasionally music. DESCRIPTION: I admit, I did not use this as much as I thought because I usually resorted to normal earbuds in both ears rather than this single. In the limited times I used the GoNovate earbud, I was pretty impressed with how quickly it connected to my phone or laptop, the sound quality was pretty good, the fit was rather comfortable, and the long battery life. Unfortunately, the earbud broke after ONLY 4 TIMES OF USING IT! I searched other reviews and there seems to be quite a few people that have the same issue. After some time, the earbud no longer charges, and then never turns on again. On the charger (I tried both), the blue light turns on for a few seconds (indicating that it is charging), then it just turns off. The earbud never turned on again. To make things worse, I contacted GoNovate directly and they refused to help, replace, repair, or offer any explanation for their defective product. I just received an apology that stated I was outside of my warranty window, which was never clearly expressed anywhere either. CONCLUSION: Definitely unhappy. Spending $20 on an item that works a handful of times and then breaks is ridiculous. Customer service was completely unhelpful. I recommend purchasing a different product that doesn't break after such a short number of uses, and from a company that actually stands behind their products.

OK earbud except for low battery warning.
Bluetooth pairing with my phone (Nexus 5X) and Android watch (Polar M600) works without drama. It is nice that the device can be paired with two other devices at the same time so I can easily switch between the two of them. Sound quality is a little muddy but I find I get used to it. Call quality seems good. The person on the other end of the call reported that they could not distinguish between my voice via the phone mic or via the GoNovate. (Perhaps that's more a reflection of poor quality of the cell network.) (1/2 star deducted for less than stellar sound quality.) I haven't timed overall battery usage yet. On one run after several hours I started hearing the "low battery" warning but I had not gone through several charge/discharge cycles which is often required to achieve maximum battery capacity. The "low battery warning" warrants further discussion. On the first run when I used this I started near the low battery condition. Into the run, I heard the warning. I heard the warning every 10-20 seconds FOR THE NEXT 20 MINUTES before the GoNovate stopped working due to an exhausted battery. The result of this is that the last 20 minutes or so of battery usage is not really usable. That's irritating to the point that I deducted another 1 1/2 stars for this.

Loved it so much I bought 2 more.
I loved this earbud so much I reordered 2 more (1 for myself & 1 for my sister) I had a problem with 1 of the earbuds not charging & wrote the seller & they replaced almost immediately. I really like that these are so small, they last quite a long time, and they sound quite good. The audio response is in English Only which is a big plus compared to some other earbuds I've tried & got stuck in Chinese and don't flash all the time like my stereo earbuds do. I use the largest cushion to make it fit my ear and have never had it fall out. Probably offering another large size earbud cover would be better than the small size. I ordered the 2nd one for myself because I use it to listen to audio books around the house and streaming videos without disturbing family members at night on my ipad & iphone and I always have a charged earbud ready. I don't really use it for my phone so can't say how well it works for calls. I wish there was a way to rename the earbud when I turn on the bluetooth as they both appear as the same name and sometimes I click on the wrong name & have to wait for it to time out to click the second earbud. Sometimes I just tell my device to 'forget this device' & the active one reappears. The earbud comes with a really nice zippered case with 2 usb chargers & 3 earpiece adapters. Great price for such a compact, easy to use device. UPDATE: I still love(d) this earbud but alas it is not waterproof & didn’t survive the washing machine. I’m soooo sad & to replace is really quite a bit more than I originally paid. I used it mostly for audio books, music while working around the house and watching youtube videos at night. Have ordered a set of waterproof earbuds for less than this one would cost so will see if they work out. If not, I’ll be biting the bullet & buying this one again.

This earbud ROCKS!
This earbud rocks. I use it for podcasts and music, as well as Headspace meditation app (so nice to not have distraction of wires), audible yoga, and running. I thought I'd feel lopsided without two buds, but my brain quickly compensated after using for a few minutes, and I now find it easy to focus on what I'm listening to, but also easy to stay aware of my surroundings. The earbud works well for calls too, though I'll usually switch to my phone anyway out of habit. But no one can tell when I'm using it during a call. The Bluetooth reaches SO far, even farther than the spec's 30 feet says - I can leave my phone in my house while gardening in my garden 50 feet away! The battery really does last ~6 hours on medium volume as advertised, but since it conveniently comes with both a car charger and regular USB charger, I usually end up keeping it fully charged all day anyway by habit. I received a defective unit that didn't charge for my first order, messaged the company via Amazon, and promptly received a free replacement 2 days later, no questions asked. (If the blue light doesn't stay on while charging at less than full charge, then it's defective.) The only negatives: 1. Easy to lose. 2. No way to order replacement without receiving another case and charger set too (nice to have the extra chargers, but don't know what to do with extra cases.) All in all extremely satisfied, about to order another (because I lost it, not defect this time.) I am so glad I found this, the convenience for everyday life is amazing, especially if you like being aware of your surroundings while listening.
