This has a great action on the reel, the larger handle makes it easy to use for a longer session. NOTE: It does require a larger reel seat as you typically find in sea rods. I paired it with a Penn Wrath 10ft 20-80g spinning rod. It's quickly becoming a favourite, paired with braid and a 60g lure it's got reach and precision with each cast.

There is nothing to dislike. Product is as advertised. I bought the Penn Pursuit IV 5000 precisely for power (9 kg drag) , sealed bearings , Aluminium handle ( which is light yet durable and makes cranking easier, not too heavy (below 600g) as heavy reels are difficult to handle , unwieldy and tiring . That’s why I did not go for the 8000 model. Also I look for deep spool for more line uptake for deep sea fishing. The only flaw was the spin arm screw was rusty when I received the reel, but a quick WD40 spray took care of this and is good as new. I was a little surprised that there was rust this fast ? Delivery was very fast - 1 week from date of order. Thank you Penn for another quality product. I cannot wait to try this out at sea next week!
