There is no technical reason why you couldn't; although you would have to dismantle the original connection of the 80" to do so.

"Male ends are removable to make female" -- Can they then be placed in a different female end to make it male?

Litcessory has a variety of pieces that interchange to create male and female connections. Careful not to bend the metal rods so connection is solid. I wrapped all Connections with electrical tape (or electrica shrink plastic) to secure all connection points once joined and operational. Helped maintain stability.

Can I run the max legnth on each side of the splitter, or is the max still 30ft?

I have not seen a distance max but I am sure it can go further than 30 ft
