Super Elastic Silicone Mold Making Kit 8A Jade Green Trial 600g

I recently discovered the wonders of BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone for my intricate sculpture projects, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This platinum cure silicone offers a host of features that make it a must-have for any sculptor. The standout feature of BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone is its incredibly low Shore hardness of less than 10A. This characteristic ensures easy demolding of even the most complex sculptures without sacrificing fine details. With approximately 250% elongation, the silicone's exceptional elasticity is vital for preserving the integrity of my sculptures during demolding and handling. One of the things I love about this silicone is its versatility in mixing options. Whether you prefer volume or weight measurements, BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone accommodates both, allowing for accurate and consistent mixing every time. The silicone is perfect for various mold types, including one-piece molds, glove molds, and matrix molds. It captures intricate details with precision, ensuring faithful reproduction of my sculptures in the final cast. However, it's important to note that BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone requires specific curing conditions. It must be cured above a certain temperature to ensure timely curing within the recommended 3-5 hour timeframe. Failure to meet the temperature requirement may result in longer curing times or incomplete curing. Additionally, users should be aware of the material compatibility of their master object to prevent cure inhibition, as this silicone is sensitive to various substances. In conclusion, BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone is an exceptional choice for sculptors seeking a high-performance molding material. Its low Shore hardness, outstanding elasticity, and compatibility with different mold types make it an invaluable tool for capturing intricate details. Just remember to follow the curing instructions and ensure material compatibility. With BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone, you can bring your artistic vision to life with remarkable precision and ease. Edit: 6/25/23 - I wanted to address some reviews I recently read about: -This silicone is very thin and runny which is exactly what you want to flow into the details of your object. -Also this is not a brush on silicone and should be not used for such applications. -Using this in the summer/ higher temps (80F+) will cause this silicone to cure faster than the stated time EDIT: 1/8/24 update - Still my favorite silicone to date. Extremely cost effective and has great shore hardness & elongation. I saw a 1 star video review stating that the silicone does not cure but the user was using 3d printed RESIN which contains SULFUR and WILL CAUSE CURE INHIBITION to platinum cure silicone. DO NOT DO THIS. Platinum cure silicone will not cure when in contact Sulphur. Also this is not a paid review, I make and cast sculptures full time for a living and this has been the most hassle-free and reliable silicone I've ever used.

I do a lot of 3D printing, but I needed to make a part that was both flexible and durable that I couldn't 3D print. Partly because of the shape, and partly because my printer can't handle super-flexible filament. I saw this stuff on Amazon and it seemed like it might work, so I ordered the small kit. I then 3D printed a mold in PLA, then coated the parts that needed to be smooth in XTC-3D epoxy. For the parts where surface didn't matter, I just left the raw PLA, layer lines and all. Because of the odd shape, I had to make a 4-part mold that could be screwed together. Once the epoxy was dry, I mixed up a batch of this BBDINO silicone, being careful to be as precise as possible with measuring. After mixing thoroughly, I took a 60ml syringe and sucked up all the silicone mix and then squirted it through the access hole in the top of my mold until it started coming out of the vent holes. At first it went pretty well, but after a couple minutes the silicone started seeping through the joints of the mold. I figured that might happen since this stuff is pretty thin - which is a good thing for getting it to flow into all nooks and crannies of the mold, but I should have done a better job sealing it. I made a frantic effort to tape up the seams to try and stop the leaks. Fortunately, it worked for the most part. But because a little bit leaked out, I didn't have quite enough to fill to the top anymore, so I quickly mixed up a second small batch and injected that as well. No big deal. I left the syringe sitting in the filler with a little excess in it so it would top off the mold if any more leaked out as it cured. Unfortunately, I got a little impatient and pulled the syringe out about an hour later, before it was completely cured and the "plug" for the hole pulled out with it because it was still soft. It didn't hurt anything in the end, other than to leave a slight dip in the finished surface instead of a plug that could be cut flush. Lesson learned. I couldn't wait to see how it came out. The instructions say to wait 5 hours before demolding, but I did it after a little more than 4. It was perfect! (other than the dip mentioned above). In order to completely remove it from the mold I had to stretch it around parts to get it loose. It's quite durable! I had to stretch quite a bit and it showed no signs of tearing. There was a lot of flashing from where it had leaked into the joints of the mold, but that was easy enough to trim off. They even supply a tool for doing so, though I didn't try it. It picked up every detail of the mold, including of course the layer lines. I had no trouble with it sticking to anything. Even the rough layer lines of the PLA. It came out of the syringe and mixing cups easily too, just by pulling on it. I have to say I am thrilled with how things turned out. I will definitely be using this stuff again if I need to make more squishy parts. Follow up almost 2 years later: Still happy with the quality of the results. While I did finally tear one of them, it had taken quite a bit of abuse before that point. When I poured the first molds, I had quite a bit of leftover mix, so I stuck it on the shelf and forgot about it until the other day. I expected that after having been opened for all this time, it probably wouldn't work very well anymore. Much to my surprise, the new pours came out just as good as the first ones. I didn't expect such a long shelf life, but I'm happy to be surprised.

This works great! Part A & B are both very runny liquid, so make sure your mold is well sealed. I mixed together by weight, stirred together very well ( a bit longer than I thought was needed, just to be safe) and poured into the mold. It sat up in about 5 hours and I have a great, stretchy, flexible mold that I’ve already used a dozen times. I’ve already ordered more silicone, and ordered the BBDINO coddle mold making kit too!

I made molds to cast custom parts for miniature buildings. The good: the chemistry works fine and the molds are very, very detailed. I can get a very accurate rendition of the textures. The so-so: the resulting molds are extremely flexible. That has the advantage that the cast parts are easy to demold. That has the distinct drawback that I need to support the sides of the mold for any part that is bigger than about 10 grams or the molds sag and the parts are not within my (admittedly tight) tolerances. Also "scraping" the excess dental stone without depressing the mold is difficult. I suspect there would be less problems if I were casting with a less dense material such as resin, but the dental stone I use is dense enough that the molds deform for bigger parts. And then resin might react with the mold, I have not tested. Lastly my first mold gave me about 15 castings before showing significant signs of wear around the overhangs. Not dramatic for the parts I was casting but you should be aware.

The functionality of this is actually pretty straightforward. It’s a 1:1 ratio for mixing and I usually find my molds are throughly stiff and none sticky as long as you mix it properly and follow the directions. Once cured it comes out as a turquoise color and is a durable rubber mold once cured.

I used this platinum silicone to make molds from my sculpts. It was my first time using silicone, but I found that it was easier than I thought. I like that Parts A and B are different colors so it's easy to tell if you need to continue mixing or if it's ready to go. I was careful with my stirring not to introduce a lot of air into the mixture. Once it was combined, a couple of gentle taps on the table brought most of the bigger bubbles to the surface, where they popped on their own. I poured from about 24 inches up in a small, steady stream, and was really pleased that there were not a lot of bubbles in the silicone. A couple of gentle taps on the side or a quick hit with a heat gun is enough to get rid of the bubbles. The silicone is fairly quick to set, but I left it for 24 hours because it was my first time and I was being extra cautious. De-molding the molds was easy - the silicone is flexible but strong enough not to tear easily. I'll be getting this brand again - I'm really pleased at the lack of bubbles, the easy pouring, and the detail captured in the molds! (PS: Learn from my almost-mistake! If you're casting molds from polymer clay, make sure it's sulphur free! This type of silicone reacts with sulphur and will not set correctly.)

I've seen others give negative review of this product due to incorrect use related to using the silicone with 3D Printed models. For FDM printers, the silicone will do a great job, no extra work needed. For resin printed 3D objects, extra care has to be taken to prep the models for use with the silicone. Most importantly, you need to properly wash the model with isopropyl alcohool. You can not use any isopropyl alchohol that you've previously used to clean other prints. If you do, your molds will come out a guey mess like others using the product have noted. Use isopropyl alcohol that you've never used before to clean the resin print. Once washed, spray it properly with more alcohol. The key here is to have no leftover resin on the model - if this uncured resin (invisible to see) comes in contact with the silicone it will contaminate it and the silicone will never harden and the contact surfaces will be a guey mess. Once you've properly washed the printed resin model with alcohol, wash the model with hot water and dishwashing liquid (not in a dishwasher), using a toothbrush to get rid of all the alcohol. Then rinse the model with water so that there is no dishwashing liquid (or alcohol or resin) left on the model. Put the model in water and cure with UV light for at least 20 minutes. Keep the model in the water for a day (preferably under direct sunlight - while still in the water). Once done, let it dry properly - do not use a hair dryer for this. Blow air on it or let it dry naturally, you can also dry with a cloth or paper towel. Only once it has completely dried is it ready for use with the silicone. Hope this helps someone.

I thought I would give this a try since I tried their clear and I liked that it self-degassed and like the idea of a very stretchy material for easy removal. But I had problems with it not curing over Monster Clay, which is specially made to use with silicone, and I had problems with wax, which I've never tried to make a mold from, but I couldn't find anything saying not to use wax. It also never cured when very thin or on my nitrile gloves. Pros: easy to mix, self-degassing. I did not have any problem with bubbles. Nice color. Cons: Seems to react with different materials. It does not seem compatible with Monster Clay or wax. It did not fully cure next to these materials. Reacted to my nitrile gloves as well because they remained sticky. It did not fully cure in very thin places either. The price seems high for the amount you get. Overall: I pretty much wasted $20. I recommend Smooth-On because it's a better deal, and I've never had a problem with Monster Clay using their products.

Alles Gut. Gerne wieder.

効果不良もほとんど起こらないし、割合1:1なので使いやすい。 流動性は高め、硬化後の感触は他のモールドと比べてかなり柔らかいので厚みとかを工夫しないと歪みが出やすいと思う。

Buen producto

I find this silicone to be very flexible, the softest I have ever used. It was cast into a 3D printed PETG mold with no trouble. I debated if it was going to have a negative effect on resin part casting, but it worked very well for some smaller parts I make. I also use a pressure pot for the resin curing and didn't have trouble with the mold changing shape, even though I have these designed to use the absolute minimum amount of silicone (not enough silicone lol). The geometric shape being cast has torn a firmer "brand name American" blue silicone much easier, likely due to the small opening I use to remove the part. I use a sulfate free clay to hold my parts in the mold and there was no reaction to the clay. I did degass the silicone in a vacuum chamber and had absolutely no air bubbles, even after using a plastic mixer on a drill to combine the two parts equally. Working time is dramatically increased when ambient air temp is 18 degrees with cure at 5-6 hours. At the recommended 25 degrees, it was cured in 2 hours as they note. At both temps it was easy to use the vacuum chamber. I made 4 molds, three times, using different temps between 18–25 degrees and all succeeded. Cast 48 parts with no flaws or failures at all.
