Review: One of Hillsong's best! - I can't say enough about this project. The songs are the best. The fast ones inspire great excitement in worship. The slow songs will inspire great reflection on how awesome our God is! This is a must for worship! Review: Five Stars - Wonderful!

Praise the Lord!
This is not my forte in music but I can appreciate the praise and worship vibe coming off of it. It's very devotional and inspiration. The thing I really don't like it how long it take for each song to get going.

Excellent!
This was the first CD I had of Hillsong. I liked all the songs, though in the beginning I only knew the Portuguese version of "King of Majesty". It's a very inspirational CD, with great songs. The best are (if you're trying to save money) Blessed, Made Me Glad, Through It All, I Adore, With You, Most High and All the Heavens. Besides, you can see Darlene Zschech sings (or tries to sing) only with her heart, and her voice is really SO beautiful and inspiring. Highly recommended!

my favorite Hillsong album
After being introduced to Hillsong worship about 3 years ago, I have bought almost all of their live worship albums over the past 7 years, including the United albums. I have introduced many of their songs at our church and love to worship along with them in the car, at home, etc... Blessed is my favorite album of them all. Each song is amazing and it's my favorite album to give away as a gift.

Not impressed
Wasn't impressed with the sameness of the songs on this one. Of course all Christian music uplifting, but the variety on here poor.

my thoughts
I'll admit I wasn't sure how I'd rate Blessed after not particularly enjoying You Are My World. This CD carries powerful worship songs and some of them I've found really inspiring. However if you don't connect with the whole "Hillsong" style of worship album, this album might not appeal to you. Sonically this album is slightly differently produced from their previous efforts. Unlike before, their sound has shifted slightly towards a "youth" worship album feel (like their United Live releases). The opening track Blessed is inspired by Psalm 84 and has an almost anthem feel to it (kinda like Did You feel the Mountains tremble, (okay maybe not a great comparison)). The other songs that I consider the best worship songs on the album is firstly the spectacular I Adore ("Holy, Holy, God Almighty... And forever the Lord is exalted") and All the Heavens. I suppose King of Majesty is another song I rate, although it fits in the basket of songs our church has killed :( I feel that their worship teams passion for Jesus and worshipping him comes out well. It's a little different in style than any other worship CD I've listened to. I think lyirically some of the songs can appear to be quite shallow (and dare i say cheesy) ("Hold me in Your arms... Never let me go... I want to spend eternity with You), although I personally see the passion behind them. Also even though this is a live album, it lacks the spiritual intensity of other worship bands... (like Passion, or delirious?). I really like this CD, although it may not be everyone's cup of tea. If you find Hillsongs cheesey, this album offers little else so it's probably best you look elsewhere. If you're a worship leader looking for new ground to break, then I would certainly give this CD a go. Certainly we use some of these songs at my church to good effect It may also intrest people that when this CD was released (in July 2002) that it sold well enough to reach #4 on the charts, which certainly got media attention down here in Australia, with the Austrlian newspaper claiming that this was "God making a comeback of Elvis proportions...". From memory 35 000 albums were sold in the first week. In fact Hillsong church seems to have picked up (considerable and hostile) mainstream media attention, not all of it flattering. I find it especially amazing considering virtually no "Christian" music gets sold in Australia (esp compared to the US). Certainly an interesting CD...
