Can you cook in the small, inner pan?

I've cooked eggs in it. By putting water in the larger portion of the pot so the steam cooks the eggs. I don't see how you would not be able to cook it like a pan. Hope that helps

how much does this weigh?

The 12cm size weighs 18.9 oz on my scale... it's a great product and size for one person
