Easy to use and accurate.
I was looking for something that would display the temperature of my various stainless steel, cast iron and carbon steel (frying) pans and this does a great job. When you want a good char on steaks or something as simple as frying eggs in a stainless frying pan this gets you there. And you just use a fork to hook it out to let it cool.

Für Freunde der Enkaustik
Für Freunde der Enkaustik: Bevor das Thermometer (USA) in die Gänge kam, war das Wachs schon zu heiß geworden. Ich hatte das Thermometer auf eine Elektropfanne (kleinste Stufe) gesetzt um Enkaustik-Wachs zu schmelzen. Ansonsten bestimmt ein brauchbares Thermometer.

Not guessing any more
My tendency was to put ingredients into the pan before the pan was hot enough. No longer! This device will tell you the temperature of the pan, so you can more accurately start your cooking on the right foot, so to speak. It’s really helped me improve my cooking technique. Well worth it!
