Our Infinity Kappa 603CF can be used as a full-range 2-way speaker system or a 3-way; it engages more electronics in the crossover. The woofer continues to act as a woofer, and the tweeter acts as a tweeter, but you now have the opportunity to add the 2 inches to act as a midrange. We would recommend the designated amps for our Kappa series, which are Infinity Kappa 4 and 5. While the nominal impedance is 3.5 ohms, this is the average impedance of the system. Because the woofer and tweeter are not reproducing the same frequency, they are not overlapping, so the nominal impedance of each speaker stays the same.
