Acrylic Dome/Plastic Hemisphere - Clear - 6" Diameter, 1/2" Flange with Pre-Drilled Holes

I bought this acrylic dome to keep birds from building a nest on top of my outdoor lights, and it works well for that. The clear material is a big plus because the light can still shine through the top instead of being blocked. It solved the bird problem without making the light look too awkward. One thing to pay attention to is the sizing. The listed size appears to refer to the dome itself, not the full piece with the flange. That was my oversight, and it caused the edge to overhang more than I expected. Even with that, it still works perfectly for what I needed. - Works well for keeping birds from nesting on my outdoor light. - Clear material lets the top light still shine through. - Pre-drilled holes are helpful. - Listed size seems to be for the dome, not the full outside width. - The flange caused some overhang in my setup. - Still perfect for my use. Verdict: A useful acrylic dome that worked well for blocking a bird nesting spot while still letting the light shine through.

Made a box for the cats to play/sleep in. Cut a 4 inch hole in the side & put this over. Cats approved!

Bought this to cover a “window” on a wall mounted cat box/platform. We installed steps and boxes/hammocks on the wall of our living room for our cats, and one of the tallest boxes at the end has sight windows cut into it. Within minutes, our kittens realized they could jump from this window onto a hanging lamp shade which was not sturdy enough to hold the weight of the kittens. This dome window works perfectly, true to size for what we needed and it allows our cats to still poke their heads through the sight window and look around, but keeps them from skydiving out of it. The lip flange has predrilled holes that were wide enough to fit typical screws without cracking the plastic, and the flange is about half an inch thick, which was wide enough for us to get a good attachment for our use. I also like the quality of the plastic, it’s very clear and doesn’t have any haziness fogging up the view through it. Easy to install, great price, and looks like it was supposed to be a part of the cat box the entire time.

I freaking LOVE this little dome window. I bought it for my chicken coop so we could see in and the girls could see out a bit. Built a little perch right in front of it and the ladies all take turns sitting and looking out, it's the best investment I have made since getting the chickens themselves. I did crack one of the screw holes by drilling in too far, so do be careful of that!

This little dome was used on an aircraft. The cover over the fuel level senders needed a domed cover for clearance reasons. This dome was incorporated into an inspection cover providing a secure and water tight protection.

Didn’t really need to “install” it because I bought it as a dome for our indoor faerie garden. It works perfectly!! I got sick of replacing dead plants so I went to artificial grass, moss, and pretty bushes. All artificial and all purchased on amazon. To keep the dust and dog hair out I needed a dome to fit over the area and this is perfect as I’ve already said. A totally different use for this item, but since I got it using amazon reward points it was low cost. Look at the photo of the faerie garden without the dome and with the dome. I am super happy. Note: it came with a crack in the dome (it’s hidden behind the faerie house) so I’m sending it back for a replacement. Wanted to post a pic right away anyway, but I’ll update the review if the next globe isn’t up to par.

Some cracked when drilling fourth hole for installation. No pressure was being applied to the drill, just letting gravity do the work as I did with previous theee holes. A large 2+ inch crack formed when drilling the fourth. $250 gone 🤢

Used to get some light in my garden shed. Lets in lots of natural light. Perfect!
