Is this powerful for work under my truck?

Yes.. it has 2 levels of brightness, it really lights up my garden well in the pitch black. I recharge it overnight. Wouldn't be without it and might get another one soon.

How long before item is fully charged

I normally leave it on charge for 4-6hours .

You do not have to remove the batteries, the back of the light has a usb slot that you can use to charge into a Power Point. The usb cable charges the batteries that power the light.
