Hollon HS-360E 2 Hour Fire Proof Electronic Home Safe

Safe is very well constructed and easy to program and operate. Arrived one day ahead of schedule by Fed-X with no damage. The color blends well with where I've placed it. I researched a lot of safes and went to a local locksmith and looked at this model as well as other manufacturers before deciding on this. I would definitely purchase another if needed.

Ordered a Hollon 360-E Safe that was shipped by HomeTek and delivered by FedEx. Safe was delivered as per my instructions in perfect shape. Exterior box was in excellent condition, packaged well inside and safe had no dings, scratches,dents or any blemishes. I had read several reviews where product did not arrive in the best of shape. The safe itself was just what I was looking for to keep my documents safe. The safe arrived 3 weeks ahead of the original planned delivery date which was another plus. The instructions were all intact inside the safe. It was extremely easy to insert the batteries, use the generic combination and open the safe. As per instructions, I set my own combination, opened 3 times to verify code worked and left open for 24 hours as instructed to let the inside of the safe adjust to the environment prior to putting in the documents to minimize any moisture being trapped. I did replace the batteries with my own Energizer batteries which I feel don't leak as bad as the Procell which were included. Overall, I am well satisfied with my purchase and delivery. I did contact Hollon because I had a question if a door seal was expected to be in place. I received an email the same day that informed me that because of the thickness of the door and the design of the safe, a door seal was not required.

Unlike other reviews, this one came undented. Well packaged. Keypad works great. Door function is smooth. Heavy, solid safe. Understand that this is not a 500lb tool resistant safe. If you want that, be prepared to shell out $1200. This is, however, a great fireproof safe that will resist any handtools, i.e. prybars, hammers, etc. Fact is, a decent thief with power tools and ample time can get into the most expensive safe. So think about what your trying to achieve and what it's worth to you.

Came banged up and dented, by the time we unpacked it I wasn't going re-pack and ship back.

We had to send it back. The door did not close tightly. When closed and locked, we could push on the door and hear it banging against the frame over and over again, obviously, it wasn't tightly sealed. As my husband said, if we had a fire, would the lack of seal on the door not allow fire or heat to get in around the doorway?? One would think so.. It cost too much to not have a really tight seal, so we shipped it back. The rest of it seemed very well made and it is really heavy.. It would take a bit for someone to carry it off, although, that would be possible (but it is made to be bolted down).. If it hadn't been for the lack of seal on the doorway, we would have kept it.

The safe itself is very good. I had two issues when it was delivered. First, the shipping box and packing material was heavily damaged. As a result one of the bottom corners of the safe was dented. Tis does not affect the performance of the door and locking mechanism and is hard to see. Second there were no directions included that said what the factory code setting was. I had to contact Hollon on-line to get a copy of the instructions that should have been provided. Update: six years later the safe works perfectly. Very easy to operate.

Nice product, faster than expected delivery. The safe is easy to program and since it bolts down it's reasonably secure. It was larger than I expected, with lots of room.

Safe arrived with no apparent shipping damage, but one of the edges was damaged, though the safe was still functional. While the safe can be bolted to the floor, if that is not how you planned to use it, the safe then has a hole in the bottom. Since I planned to locate the safe on a main floor this would mean it would be exposed to fire under certain conditions, not exactly something to be desired for a two hour fire resistant safe. I contacted the company and they said to go to the local auto supply store and getting a tube of high temperature sealant. Perhaps that would work, but I thought I was buying a safe, not building my own.
