I recently painted the interior of my house and also replace the flooring in several rooms including the laundry room. As a result I knew that our washer and dryer would be out in the garage for a few weeks. Since we already had a generator powerful enough to run the dryer I purchased this adapter to be able to put the dryer to the generator. It was plenty long enough, seems very durable, and was easy to use. I'm no electrician but from my research it seemed safe and worked without any issue. They are not inexpensive but it was well worth it for us to be able to use our dryer while remodeling the laundry room.

If you have a house built before 2000, you probably have a 3 prong dryer outlet. I do, and I also have an EV that needs charging. The first thing was to get this adapter for my EV plug. It fits perfectly going from the old sryle 10-30 plug to the new 14-50 plug. It works seamlessly! This adapter is very well made. The cable is heavy gauge to send all those amps to your car. The big gauge wire prevents the adapter from overheating, and melting. Another good feature about this adapter is that it isn't all black wiring. The end are a nice blue to make it easy to see. The best feature? It is plug and play. Other adapters are plug in, but they also come with an extra ground wire that you have to attach somewhere. Easy peasy! It is a fantastic value as you don't have to hire an electrician to do your install.

Working well so far! Great for those of us with these older houses (and older dryer outlets). As instructed - MAKE SURE NOT TO PULL MORE THAN 24 AMPS!!! That's what will cause the melted plugs you see in other reviews - charged for about 1.5 hours last night and nothing was even warm to the touch - even the metal prongs from the wall side were maybe 100-110 degrees after I unplugged. Saving us a few hundred dollars from needing to upgrade the outlet and a couple thousand from installing a dedicated charger with wiring, so no complaints here! 25% charge now takes 4 hours instead of 16.

Quality, thick, inexpensive, delivery in a few hours. I just traveled long distance to visit family, and when I was ready to plug into the dryer outlet for a quicker charge (rather than the slow 15A wall outlet), I realized I had forgotten my adapter. My Model Y was at15% when I arrived, and would have taken over 24h at 12A wall outlet. I went to Amazon, found this, and I had it delivered just a few hours later. It tested it to charge my ev using dryer. I made sure to turn the Amp to 24A after seeing all the melted pluds and reading into the issue on why that would happen... It works fine and no overheating no burning but the fit isn't snug for my charger cord and that makes me uncomfortable so I decided to return it. If your charger plug fit Snug this might be a good option as a back up. I don't think using this long term routinely is a good idea that charge your car .. I am returning. I'll just add a 14-50 plug

Great adapter for use with Tesla charging cable. Make sure you MANUALLY set the maximum charge rate to 24A for safety. Fits very snugly into the dryer outlet I used it on, seems well made and likely to last. Checked with thermal camera after running a charge at 24A for about an hour and it only got up to 77 degrees F.
