Would this work as an extension for a multitool that has a standard 1/4" hex bit holder (e.g. Havalon Evolve)?

It would work, and fits a standard bit holder, although may be as stable as a "normal" 1/4" extension - the connector that attaches to the tool is a slimmer one to fit the Leatherman proprietary flat bit holder, so has open air at either side when it's in a 1/4" slot. It's also not a massive extension (you gain just under 3.5"), but the ratchet function is decent.
