Will any of the filaments write on glass?

I don't believe so: it is a pencil, & I don't think that they offer a grease pencil insert that would adhere to the surface of a glass fiber.

Does the stainless tube run from tip to end? Will this thing take a jobsite beating

Great questions! The stainless steel tube runs the bottom half of the pencil. The TUFF Carbon pencil will, most certainly, withstand quite a beating. The only part that is subject to abuse is the mechanism itself; if used properly, it will be a long-lasting tool.

Does this work well on sheet metal/dusty sheet metal?

I bought it to work on metal. You will need to get the silver streak refills though. Also, try and keep it interesting in the bedroom. You’re welcome.

Like many others, the marker works for a day or so - lead will not advance. Can't find a helpful video on loading lead. Any help?
