What would happen if you don't fire these and just let them air dry?

They should be fired if you are hand-building or throwing a clay pot. The undercoat can be used on wet clay or air-dried clay (aka greenware) and then bisque fired in the kiln, or after it is bisque fired brush it on before the final firing. Otherwise, for example, if you are just putting it on plaster, you can use acrylic paint for that. But it needs to be fired because it would not be it's true color or it could crack or flake off. What cone do they fire to?

These glazes fire to: Cone 06-05 (1828°-1888°F, 998°C-1031°C).

Yes you can mix Mayco Stroke & Coat but I am not sure about mixing other Mayco paints. I am always making new colors or painting with one color and layering other colors on top of the base color.

Great alternative to underglaze

Love love love these. I've used them on bisque fired pottery in place of underglazes to create decorative designs. When fired alone, these will become glossy without an additional top glaze. I've used them on their own and with transparent glaze and I've been very happy with the results. They behave predictably like an underglaze, without running during the firing process. They are also food safe so can be used on dinner ware. I'd 100% recommend trying Mayco Stroke and Coats :)
