Great ground cover & feed
Ordered this Strulch on a recommendation from a neighbour. I have used it on my strawberry patch, easy to use & spread around. The strawberries love it, within a week they were peeping out through the straw, looking green & healthy. Two weeks on, no sign of any weeds which is great. Good value for money, smells lovely, great texture.

Keeps moisture and stops weeds
I love this product and I have honestly lost count of how many bags I have bought. It is perfect as a mulch for keeping moisture in the soil and it does a great job at smothering weeds on growing beds. I use it a lot on my allotment and it works really well, especially for strawberries. It is easy to spread and really helps improve the overall condition of the beds. You can see the difference after using it. The only downside for me is the price as it is a bit on the expensive side. That said, the quality is excellent and it does the job so well that I keep coming back to it. Overall a fantastic product in my opinion.

Effective does what it says it will!
This is really good at helping to retain moisture in the soil and for weed suppression. When it settles it forms a matting effect. It looks good and over time just decomposes into the soil. Great product!

Happy customer
Lovey fine mulch which spreads easily and a blessing the large bag is surprisingly light and easy to lift. Iโve given the other bag to a keen garden pensioner who was estatic with the mulch. Xx

Amazing to keep slugs and snails away plus keep my garden weed free.
Excellent for keeping slugs and snails at bay in garden bedding and pots. Also really great for suppressing weeds. And keeps my plants hydrated longer as it keeps moisture in. Very pleased with the product. Started using this last year after a friend recommended it. Easy to apply and stays in place. Looks clean and neat. Has a soft straw like appearance. Wear gloves while handling. Has a mild but not unpleasant earthy sweet smell that dissipates over time.

My favourite mulch
I have been using this for years, and I find worms REALLY like it. My soil, which was terrible, has become crumbly, holds more water (is very sandy, almost silt, as I live near the Thames) and I constantly see earth worms active at night. It would help heavy soil with drainage, too, I am sure โ far more effective than adding sand or digging. If you use this, the worms will do that work for you. It looks neat, is easy to spread, and has virtually no smell, only a pleasant, mild hay scent. You're not supposed to use normal straw for mulching, as it can leach nutrients from the soil as it breaks down, but this is mineralised, so that does not happen. It is also a lot softer than normal straw, so far more pleasant to use. One thing to note: this should not get too wet before use, or it becomes a pulpy, soppy mess, is no longer easy to spread, and gets a musty, nasty smell. I would order shortly before use, and try to keep it under cover if possible. Another thing to note is that you should wet it down after applying, if you can. When dry, as it comes, it will tend to blow about. That is the biggest disadvantage, that it's very light when dry and tends to โtrackโ. But this adds plenty of organic material and conditions the soil, which that large bark mulch stuff hardly does. I use home-made compost underneath, but this will work fine without, and still massively improve soil quality. It did take a few years with my soil, but it was really bad to start.. I try to use this generously twice a year, in spring and autumn. It is very good to protect roots from frost damage over winter. You can also use it to pack plant pots over winter. So put a few in a larger container, and pack all the gaps and cover the tops.
