The jack has better stress relief in this design than the previous. Good and stiff.

Perfect works great with my Escort 8500 radar detector, very durable ideal length.

Cord works fine for my R7, just too short and pulls the radar detector off my mounts because it's too tight.

Using this on Escort 9500IX. Actual replacement cord from Escort is over $100. Not worth it. Keep in mind this is a basic power cable. It doesn’t have the silence button or anything else that the original does. I rarely used that button so rather save $90 with this.

I bought this and it didnt work. Didnt send it back to much for to little. Like to get one that works for a older uniden R 3. I hate to oay 4 things teo times. dont want to give u a bad review. But do the right thing this time Paul Henry

In every way this is a nicer, higher-quality, and sturdier plug than the OEM Valentine One plug. The only reason not to use this is if... you need the bluetooth adapter for the V1 Gen 1. And unfortunately I do, so that requires the OEM plug with it's 2 RJ11 sockets. I'm still keeping this one around, though, because I'll upgrade to the Gen 2 model eventually, and it uses the same chintzy power plug as the Gen 1, and then I can come back to using this.
