(21512) Preserved Sheet Moss, Fresh Green, 8oz (200 cubic inch)

You get bang for your buck here. I bought 8 oz (200 cubic inches). It was more than enough for the Mickey Mouse Moss tree I made for my coffee table. I had a ton left over. The size of the foam base is probably 14x12 inches, and it covered both sides, plus the corners. I originally went to a major craft store and bought a competitors sheet moss for nearly 3 times the price. Their product was so horrible that I went online to discover this gem at an amazing price! The color is fantastic by the way. The competitors was very flat, 1 dimensional, fake looking, and very thin. SuperMoss has a natural vibrant green with good dimension of hues that blend in well to the thick realistic texture. My only complaint is that the stuff STINKS so bad! People reviewed it as "Earthy". I would describe it as "chemically". It could be the methyl hydrate(used in paint thinners) they use to preserve the moss, or the dye. Wish it would state what they use to preserve it so I'd be less afraid to smell it every time I walk by it. Unfortunately all preserved moss brands have some dangerous chemical in it. So it's not entirely a negative. PROS Price, quantity included, natural texture, thick. color is vibrantly dimensional. CONS Smell, does not list method of preservation, chemicals used not listed

Just got this, nice big strips, can easily cut to fit. Faint smell, not to bad. ( I bought the supermoss pieces, terrible smell, and sent back and got these.) So real, I have a tiny garden in back yard, apartment, and I laid these strips over the dirt, and my pots are now sitting on top of this moss, looks so real. Not sure yet, how it will do with the rain, but I'll keep you posted down the road, but so far, really pretty. Very Happy! A little pricey but I will order another box to fill in some bare spots, when my cash flow is relieved...LOL...

My boyfriend purchased this for me a week ago from his account, so my review won't say verified purchaser, but I assure you, we purchased it. Seller is Amazon. Unfortunately, while the description says 5 pounds, I weighed the box on my digital kitchen scale when it got here, and the box only weighed 4 pounds. This is verified by the UPS shipping label which also says 4 pounds. When I opened the box, the moss was within a plastic bag, I took that bag out and weighed the empty box. Box weighed 13 oz. So basically, we were only shipped 3 pounds 3 oz. of moss. NOT 5 pounds. IF we can ever figure out how to get ahold of Amazon Customer Service, we hope that they can remedy this problem. Other than the weight being WAY off, the moss itself is about how I expected it. I know people complain about it not being in perfect square sheets, but I figure it doesn't grow in squares in the wild, and it's not like lawn sod where you just grow the stuff out in a field (I could be wrong). So I have no problem with the shapes. IF I want square sheets, I'll go to the hobby store and buy the fake stuff.I want it to be natural looking. I laid out all the pieces on a 6 foot by 8 foot piece of plastic (to give you some scale in the photos). The largest moss piece measures about 10 inches by 16 inches (irregular shape of course). The thickness of the moss varies in places, so it's not consistently one thickness. Again, no problem with that. I bought this to decorate for my daughter's wedding, various fixtures and centerpiece arrangements. The wedding is in late May, so I will update this review later to see if the moss holds up. I know the description says the color was enhanced. I do have quite a bit of moss here on my property in the woods, and this looks consistent with that. I flipped one piece over to show you the back. It is a bit fragile and I handled it delicately. I hope we can glue it without issues.

This is a beautiful package of sheet Moss. I would recommend anybody who is interested to buy it just be sure it’s the type of moss you are looking for. Unfortunately it turns out I was looking for what I now know is reindeer Moss. So I had to ask to return the item. Amazon was quick to approve the return which I am grateful for. I do not like having to return anything I order. I am very careful with items I order and handle them with care. But unfortunately in this instance I made a mistake and I did not want to have to ask for a return but I need it to as money is tight just like it is for everyone at this time in our lives.Again it’s beautiful Moss. It’s beautifully green. A secret of florist taught me years ago is when you buy moss of this type. if you soak it in a bowl of water for maybe five minutes, you then squeeze it out gently and then lay it on top of the dirt in your flower pots and it will dry in place sort of like anchoring itself and you also don’t have to deal with dust and debris if you cut it and try to lay it down dry.

Looks great just not as pliable as I thought it would be.

I use this to top potted houseplants, tuck into rustic floral displays, cover topiary balls, etc. The moss comes in large irregular pieces that can be torn to fit or shredded a bit to cover more area. The color is good for several months in strong sunlight, but will turn brown over time. I keep coming back to this product for the price and the quality.

Do not attempt to use this in a outside fairy garden of any size, it would be good for terrariums perhaps, but for outside it was a total waste of money and I had to take it all up and replace it with moss I removed from a nearby woods. There were no directions as to how best to "install" it in a fairy garden type setting.
