Is there a public API available for this dongle? I'd really like to integrate this into a SmartThings setup.

NetHome plus AP, I've tried to intergrate into Smartthings and Amazon Echo with no luck.

Can I see how much energy the unit is using through the app?

No. The app (NetHome Plus on iPhone) is pretty minimal. It does the job of controlling any function on the air conditioner, but doesn't provide any additional functionality like measuring power consumption.

Once this is set up will i be able to use the remote and or the phone app to control the unit? Or once the app is connected the remote will not work?

I use both the remote and the app regularly. Both always work.

manual says to continually press the "digital display button" or the "do not disturb button", I dont see either of the buttons, are they on the remote
