I recently started the paleo diet in hopes to jump start some weight loss and help with inflammation. A friend is doing the same and highly suggested I purchased one of these to help makes things that go into this diet. My first attempt at using this was to make cauliflower mash. It's really easy to do you pop some cauliflower in the blender, add a little water to help it mash, and blend until smooth. You remove it from the blender and stick the mix onto the cheese cloth. You roll it up making sure no ends are open or you will lose your mash and you squeeze it over the sink or into a bowl. This helps keep your mash together and remove any excess liquid in it. The cheese cloth is HUGE (about 15"x32") so it makes it so easy to use! The fine grits of the mash did not get through and I was left with a nice mash. I fried it with a little coconut oil seasoning and it was done. I plan on trying to use this to make cauliflower rice as well. I washed it by placing it in a mesh garment bag and throwing it in with my dish towels. It's very fine so while it may not be instructed to do this I would recommend it to keep the cloth nice! Definitely recommend this! Prior to this purchase I never even heard of one and now I need more :)

My package came with the plastic covering ripped, which wasn't nice to find. Regardless, this works very well, and has multiple uses. Make sure you thoroughly wash the cloth and let it dry before you cut it!! (I made the mistake of cutting it before I washed it and the piece was almost too small to line my steamer.) So, it shrinks a bit once it's been washed. The edges are delicate, but it holds together well. One use I needed it for was cooking guavas to squeeze the juice out and keep the hard seeds from falling in the pot. I've strained broths with it, too. And made a small satchel to keep the hard spices in (like star anise and cinnamon stick) for cooking soup.

I used this on my Thanksgiving turkey and it worked great.
