Does it come with instructions?

The kit has everything you need for binding except glue and paper,however there are no instructions. Try the internet for instructions.

Do you have a plastic folder instead of bone? I do not want animal products. Thanks

We are very sorry, we don't have the plastic bone folder. Because plastic bone folder are easily broken than genuine bone folder.

Where is the bone folder made?

Probably China, since that's where the kit is made.

How is the quality of the thread? does it come undone or do the knots stay?

It seems to be good quality. I've used the black and the white threads and have not had any problems. The knots haven't come undone yet in the two books I've made, and the thread I received is quite strong.
