Worth every penny!
This system was truly a lifesaver. I had an aggressive thumb sucker, so much so that her teeth were starting to move forward and she had huge blisters/callouses on both of her thumbs. She sucked to go to sleep, ride in the car, even while she was talking she would sometimes refuse to take her thumb out of her mouth. We tried everything: educating her on the bad effect the thumb sucking was having on her teeth, bad tasting nail polish, discouraging her sucking during sit-down times, bribing with daily rewards, but nothing seemed to work. We let her know that we were going to help her stop the habit with these devices, and showed her the star chart included. When the chart is finished, we told her, she would be getting a ride-on toy she has been wanting. We also tied permission to watch her favorite tv show to be dependent upon her completing the previous day successfully without sucking her thumb. Warning: the first week was HARD. The first two days I had adjusted the band too tight, and the device ended up leaving red marks on her hands. On the third day, we found a fit that worked for us, and though *technically* she could get out of it, we warned if she did so we would tighten the device further and it encouraged her to leave it on. Even so, the sucking had already dropped dramatically on day 1, by day 3 she only sucked to try to get a reaction from us, and by day 7 she realized the daily rewards and her favorite TV show were more valuable than the lackluster reward of her diminished thumb sucking abilities with the device. Bedtime was a constant nightmare that first week as she learned how to fall asleep without her thumb crutch. Day 8 was the first day she went all day without sucking her thumb, and with only one time when she was really upset on day 22, she never tried sucking again. By day 25, I started taking the device off for very dirty activities, like play dough or cookie baking, then putting it back on. By day 29 we phased out of the device entirely, and she is currently on her 4th day without wearing the device at all and still no thumb sucking. It’s a miracle! Pros: design, toddler may like the choice of wrist bands, easily washable Cons: Lots of people will judge you for putting the device on your child (not that I cared), the device will start to get tinged over time, and getting the right fit is a bit difficult at first. It’s expensive if you need two devices like I did. I also wouldn’t recommend this unless your toddler is verbal enough to understand why you’re doing it and the reward system you set up for them. Overall, if I had to do this all over again, I would buy this system in a heartbeat. It is the only thing that has produced results, and it took less than 60 days to do so. Would highly recommend!!!

This Actually Works
Our little one started sucking his thumb as soon as he found it at around 4 months old and quit using any other pacifier. Now he's 2 years old (26 months to be exact) and we were ready to ditch the thumb sucking as his teeth were starting to shift because of it. We tried the bitter tasting nail polish at first and it had minimal impact. I was a little hesitant when I first saw the price of this Thumb Guard, but when compared to dental appliances, palate expanders, and orthodontics later in life - the cost of this is negligible. The first time I put this on, my little one was distracted with TV and snacks. After he noticed it, he didn't seem to mind and NEVER complained about it for the weeks to come. He was still able to eat, drink, play while wearing the Thumb Guard. We did notice a couple tantrums within the first 3 days of wear as he had to learn alternative coping mechanisms and a few of his naps were short as he had to learn how to fall asleep without his thumb - be prepared for these behavior change hurdles! The one and only time his skin showed any signs of irritation was when our Nanny changed out the band and fastened it too loosely. When the band is loose, everything can shift around and irritate the skin. When the wrist band and device fit snug, we did NOT experience any irritation. After 1 WEEK of Wear - we attempted to remove the device. Our little one went back to thumb sucking within a few hours. So we put the device back on. After 2 WEEKS of Wear - we attempted to remove the device. Our little one did great for about 2 days! Then I caught him sucking his thumb in bed. So we put the device back on. After 3 WEEKS of Wear - we removed the device and have NOT had any more thumb sucking! This 1000% works with consistency. He wore the device 24/7 through wake time and sleeps. We only took it off during baths (every other day). Because we only changed it every other day, we still have plenty of wrist bands remaining if needed, at least 10 extras. I would easily and highly recommend this Thumb Guard for anyone who is looking to stop their child's thumb sucking.

It did work.
It did work. I was able to get my two year old to stop sucking her thumb. Even with just one device she didn't try to suck her other thumb. I ended up having to keep it on her hand at all times for close to two months. We had to put a cotton glove with the fingers cut out under the device because it would blister her hand if we didn't. The first two night were rough but after that she did really well and didn't want us to take it off. We went to these drastic measures because she had a massive overbite from thumb sucking. That did right itself in a few months after she quit thumb sucking. I would recommend. I'm only deducting one star because it will blister their hand without a glove and if you don't keepit tight enough they can pull it off.

Better than the bitter nail polish
We were ready to try anything to get our five year old to stop sucking her thumb. This was perfect. She wore it 24/7 for two weeks and then we started slowly taking breaks. She would always suck her thumb while watching TV, so we tried that first and she wasn’t even tempted. After a few days of giving her more time without the guard, we gave her a whole weekend day. She did great and we moved to nights only. We forgot to put it on one night and she went the whole night without sucking it. Took about four weeks in total, but very worth it. I will say, she was very motivated to stop, so her cooperation was a big part. Small rewards in the beginning helped too. The only challenge we had was so parts of the guard rubbed at her skin. Some bandaids fixed that quickly.

“Did not work as intended – easy for a baby to remove”
I purchased the TGuard Aero Thumb Sucking Prevention Kit with high expectations because it is quite an expensive product and is specifically designed to prevent babies from sucking their thumb. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. First of all, it did not accomplish its main purpose. My daughter was able to remove the device very easily, which should not happen with a product that is supposed to prevent a child from accessing their thumb. If a baby can take it off on their own, the product completely loses its purpose. In addition, the material quality is not very good. The silicone part started to turn yellow after only a few days of use. I always washed it carefully according to the instructions, but it still became discolored and looked worn very quickly. Considering the price of this product, I expected better design, better material quality, and better effectiveness. Unfortunately, that was not the case. In my experience it did not work at all and ended up being a very disappointing purchase. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it.

Plastic starts to rip & eventually break.
Thumb guard cost a lot of money for something that doesn’t holds up!!! Only lasted 5.5 months before the plastic ripped apart & completely broke. So, be aware if you have to use it for long term use, like I’ve had too. Also, you have to keep buying the bands which are expensive. If it wasn’t for these issues the guard would be great.

Worth every hard earned penny
I rarely write reviews but after trying this device I felt compelled to share my experience. My daughter is 2 years old (27 months to be exact) she found her thumb on a lonely night at around 3 months old and never let go since😅. I honestly was not going to wean her out of it this early but she progressed to sticking her pointer in her nose and scratching it really bad it bled overnight and I freaked out, took her to her doctor and I was recommended this device to get her to stop since sucking on her thumb was directly related to her picking her nose. At first I was skeptical and we had already tried the nail polish but that was just flavor for her, she didn’t care one bit (it tasted disgusting) so I thought I will give this a try with not much hope. I bought two because she’s stubborn and even though she only used her right one I just had a feeling she will start the other thumb too. First day she didn’t really care about the device, didn’t put up a fight to nap or sleep so I was pretty impressed, I did start calling it a glove and she loved the idea of getting her own gloves on so it was a win. I did note scarring because she wore it 24/7 except for bath time which usually lasts 30 min tops. Day two she did start to get cranky and I was expecting this, fully prepared for it I had her favorite foods for her to keep her hands and mouth busy with something else. Fast forward to now 2 weeks and 5 days in, she asked me to take it off during the day for the first time ever and I wanted to test it so I did, and wow… she went on the whole day (nap included) without sucking on it once, she would put her fingers in her mouth like any other kid but not really suck on her thumb at all, she was really happy and I transitioned to only putting it on for night time since even though I haven’t seen her suck on it, I can’t trust she won’t overnight when I’m not watching but I’m very impressed to say the least, she used to keep her thumb in her mouth at all times and I didn’t realize it was so bad until she stopped and I started seeing how her thumb was peeling off dead skin 😩 so I’m very glad we made this decision for her and her overall health. I would strongly recommend parents to do this while they kiddos are still young, I will say the device isnt completely impossible to get around so if your child is bigger they need to fully be onboard to not take it off which is really hard, parents with kids that suck on their thumb can agree it’s not an easy thing but not impossible to do so, anyways, if you’re thinking about weaning your baby out of it, DO IT! Orthodontists are way too expensive Ps. I washed the device daily with white vinegar, soap and warm water and scrubbed it and I didn’t experience bad discoloration as others mentioned.

Sadly a necessary tool, thankfully effective!
I'm sure every desperate parent out there, trying to balance a child's feelings/emotions along with doing what is best for their health will understand the heartache I felt buying this. But when little one's night time thumb sucking continued until 4 and was clearly starting to effect teeth and jaw, something had to be done. The nasty tasting nail polish didn't work so had to result to this. Explained to my little one that this is a tool to help them (not punishment) and that it was temporary. We didn't even need to use the bracelet as little one was on board! However, those bracelets to keep it on definitely wouldn't come off. Took about 2 months of nightly wear (again, little left it on without the bracelet when easily could have taken it off, so little was on board with getting the support to stop thumb sucking). But after a couple months of use little one no longer sucks their thumb at night! The long term health protection to the jaw/teeth/mouth is worth the short term turmoil it may create. So grateful for this product.

Didn't work for us
This didn't work for us - our 4yo worked out how to use his teeth to pull the guard up and then slide his thumb down and out after 2 days. Also was able to cut the band off with scissors and take the guard off. Didn't matter how tight i secured the guard. I can see how it might work for some children. Just didn't work for us.

The comfort and price is fair
Just what I needed for my son, I helped him leave his dependence with his finger, I like that you can change the garters and it fits his hand, it is easy to wash and comfortable

Worked as intended.
Our dentist recommended this and it worked like a charm. Our 4 year old sucked her thumb CONSTANTLY (day & night) but after wearing this for a month, she does not self soothe this way any longer. She naturally tries other strategies and we are impressed! At first, it took a bit of adapting, but after a couple days she was used to it and wore it easily. Very much recommend.
