Works flawlessly for legacy PLCs and HMIs (FTDI Chipset is the key!)
As an Industrial Automation Engineer, finding a reliable USB-C to serial adapter is a constant battle. A lot of the cheaper cables on the market use inferior chipsets that choke when trying to establish a clean handshake with older industrial hardware. This OIKWAN cable uses the genuine FTDI chipset, which is the absolute gold standard for reliability. I bought this specifically to communicate with some legacy Mitsubishi Electric gear that still requires a solid RS232 connection. It worked flawlessly out of the box for transferring both PLC and HMI programs on: Mitsubishi Electric FX2N PLC Mitsubishi Electric F940GOT HMI While I can’t personally guarantee it will work with every single legacy device ever made, the fact that it handled this specific Mitsubishi hardware without a single dropped packet or communication timeout is a massive win. If you work in industrial automation and your newer programming laptop only has USB-C ports, keeping one of these in your tool bag is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!

It works great ... now.
It was not working at first. The drivers installed and it didn't work. Did not work for over 24 hours. Now it works. The machine did not restart. I really don't care as long as it continues to work.

Works perfectly on a Mac running Windows 11 virtual machine.
Used these on a Mac running a Virtual Windows 11 machine (Arm version). They work perfectly. No need to add extra drivers.
