It kills mold and mildew spores.

Does lysol aerosol spray eliminate cigarette smoke odors”?

I don't smoke but you should try the Febreze Fabric Refreshner.

How does one open the discontinued white cap on Lysol that Amazon insists on sending me, that the Lysol customer service rep didn't know?

Lysol offers the disinfectant spray with two cap designs. One is a cap that requires removing it prior to usage (white cap). This cap pops right off, and then you can spray. The other design bottle does not contain a cap to be removed, as shown in the picture. If you are having difficulty removing the cap, please call us directly and we will need to receive more information such as lot number and UPC information to assist you further. We hope this information is helpful! Please call us at 800-228-4722 between 9:00-5:00 EST (Monday - Friday) or send us an email via the Contact Us page on our website including the following case number, RB000136609
