Android Phones For Seniors For Dummies is your one-stop guide to discovering the essentials on how to take charge of your Android-powered phone. It skips the techspeak and confusing jargon to deliver key information in a straightforward and reader-friendly way. With this book, youโll learn to: Navigate your way around your smartphone so you can easily open and close apps, access info, and see photos Read your email and messages so you can stay in touch with the important people in your life Secure your phone so you can be assured that you, and only you, can access the sensitive data on it Printed using larger-print type and accompanied by full-color pictures that show you how to apply the step-by-step instructions, this easy handbook is the only resource youโll need to make the most of your Android phone. Review: simplicity - Not as technical as author, and not using phone for complex issues. Only using phone primarily as a phone, and not as computer type device. Book is fine, I just am not as technical as some readers would be. Review: Reasonably Good Beginner Reference - We got this book to help understand the operations of my wife's Android phone. It has been relatively useful so far. Only complaint is that you have to skip around to find stuff. And the index is not well done - hard to find a reference for some issue.

not the best for specific instructions for each task
This book provides overall advice for being a smartphone user but does not provide specific step by step instructions for as many tasks as some other books.

There must be better books than this one.
Total garbage. My 90 year-old father bought one to better figure out his Samsung, and he finally gave up. I bought one to maybe help him out (we live in different states and Iโm an iPhone guy). I found the book to be unduly complex, and it races right past the basics (like what a camera or a text icon even look like) and jumps straight into the advanced, rarely-used features. Surely there are better books out there than this.

Straightforward
Bought this for mom, she reads it and finds most answers (if she takes the time.)

great book
This is a great book ! But I am a generation that thought that the tv was far out. I know it takes time to learn a new skill and I'm being very forgiving of my dumness.. I real love this book !! Mike

ignorance is not bliss.
i am old,and yes some technology even fools me.I purchased this book in desperation,as i really did not want to pester my son again with my mobile phone. He is unaware that i did this, but it has helped me set up a new phone with very little input from anyone else except this book.I even managed to grasp some of the language used to explain its workings,so do yourself a favour buy this book and stop relying on your children, they may even be impressed.

Out of date before it was published
The author is very technically knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject (smartphones). I found lots of good questions to ask the next time I buy one and/or ask for help setting one up. However, the step by step instructions are no longer relevant in most cases, as the technology is evolving so quickly. That's not the author's fault...just the nature of the subject.

Useless
Couldn't understand a word of it. It is written for Americans in American IT language. Maybe 'dummies' come in grades!
