The hex or square tips can't be inserted into their respective shaped holes, as the main shaft diameter prevents adequate travel into the seat.

These wrenches must be for the short seats, with some grinding, I got it to work, this should be mentioned in the item description?

This was a great tool to have on hand to replace the brass seats behind my valve stems and diverter in my three handled price, Festertub shower valve kit. It worked great it’s good quality and the price was awesome. It has two different ends square or hex so it will fit pretty much any seat that you need to remove and install without stripping. This purchase was definitely a win compared to the big box home stores.
