Top-Quality Cowhide Leather – Versatile and Beautiful
This dark brown genuine cowhide leather sheet is excellent quality. The leather is thick, durable, and has a rich, natural color that looks even better in person. It feels premium and well-tanned, not stiff or dry, and it cuts and works very cleanly. I’ve found it to be extremely versatile — perfect for crafts, leather tooling, and a wide range of sewing projects. Whether you’re making small handmade items, repairs, or more detailed leatherwork, this sheet is easy to work with and holds its shape well. Overall, this is top-notch leather that feels like it will last for years. Great value for the quality, and I would absolutely buy it again. Highly recommended for anyone needing genuine leather for creative or practical projects.

Perfect! I recommend it!
I had a very specific "want" in mind - something to set glasses and bottles on in my bar cabinet that would not be the typical silicone bar mat, as it would be too thick. My first thought was to order one of those computer mats. Most would be $18 or more for whatever material, including fake leather, and real leather ones would be maybe $40 at the low end. I don't know why but I thought I'd see if amazon sold pieces of leather I could cut into a sheet and how much they'd be. I was surprised to find just what I wanted at a very reasonable price. This tooling sheet is ideal. It lays flat, has a rich color to it, and when I open the cabinet door, I'm hit with a great leather fragrance you find in those leather goods shops in Mexico and Central America. The sheet I received was true to size and "square", such that it had a 90-degree angle at each corner. Every cut was clean and straight. I couldn't be more pleased and am considering ordering a couple more for the lower shelves. Technically, they're just storage but I just like the smell. I am aware that I probably got super lucky getting such a perfect piece and if I do order more, I might not be as lucky, but, again, for my intended use, I won't mind.

Perfect leather for making strops for my TSProf.
This item was exactly as described. I purchased this leather to make strops for my TSProf sharpener. I was hoping it was firm as too soft leather will cause problems when stropping such as rounding the edge. The leather is quite firm but thick which to my mind is ideal. The 6 x 12 piece will produce 12 pieces for enough strops to last a long time even with multiple grit strops. Very pleased with my purchase. Exactly what I wanted.

Brown is much darker than picture
Pros: The quality seems fine. It is a soft leather. It is roughly 2 mm thick. Neutral: The smoother side does mark up quite a bit as expected with leather. Con: The color is a lot darker than shown in the picture. I ordered dark brown and it is definitely brown but a VERY DARK brown. At first I thought it was black but it's definitely not black so I know it is what I ordered... I was just expecting the shade to be closer to the picture. Leather gets darker when it is oiled up so imagine that it is well oiled. That's how dark the smooth face is. The suede side is lighter and more the color I'd like but that's not the side I want to have showing. It's a good thing that a darker color is okay for what I am doing but not ideal. Rubbing the smooth side will lighten it up but not uniformly. For those who care: It is made in China.

Excellent quality leather for use as a strop, or for making other small goods like pouches or tool sheaths.

Great Buy for Jewelry Making and More
This tooling leather square (1.8 - 2.0MM) is perfect for making various jewelry items like bracelets. The coloring was even across the leather piece, although I would not necessarily expect it to be. It is finished smooth on one side and unfinished natural leather on the other side. It is soft, bendable and very nice to touch and has a wonderful natural leather smell. It is easy to cut with a razor blade or even a good pair of scissors. I am also using it to line both sides of a home-made small wooden clamp I made to hold jewelry wires (copper and silver) in place while I do wire weaving, wire wrapping, or other intricate wire work. The leather prevents any scratches from getting on the wires while they are clamped down. I will definitely buy this again.

Great to make a journal or field notebook.
Dark brown is very nice looking and so smooth. I used this to make a passport journal but just a bit wider than normal to conceal my pen within it.
