This is a 2 piece cover. Which I thought was going to be a problem at first. It is not! It is a HUGE plus! The sides are one large piece that has 4 hooks and 4 magnets to attach to the cage at the top and wraps completely around the cage or you can open just the front or just the sides and front. Perhaps you only want to block one side of the cage...you can use it easily however you want to. The top is a separate piece. It attaches with velcro. The cover is not see through so being able to remove just the top for light on the first day we brought our baby birds home seemed to comfort them. We put the heated perch and heater that goes with it on the side of the cage and the cover held the heat in really well. That was in a large flight cage too. The versitality of this cover is well worth it.

This works well for my large bird cage. I did not use the top portion as the cage is not flat and while it fit ok, it's better without it. I wish there were more hooks since that would make it more flexible for any cage but I was able to get them near the corners I wanted. It does gap as you can see from picture when I don't take my time to secure all the way. I leave it on two sides (against the wall) all the time as it's not easy to take all the way off. It keeps my little flock protected at night from being disturbed by my nosy noctural cats.
