How to remove blade guard?

This I don’t know but it was very short lived I think I used it twice and in the trash it went.

I am looking for a chopper for herbs. Would this chopper work for that?

I have never tried chopping herbs yet with this chopper, but I believe it just might be good for that. I had to replace a chopper that I have had for about 20 years and this seems to work just as well as my previous one that I just loved did. I hope it works as well for your purposes.

Can the whole top plunger part go in dishwasher? Is there a spring that could rust?

The lid and plunger are plastic I'd be afraid it would melt in the dishwasher
