Great for a budget laptop cooler.
I’ve had this for over 6 months and it doesn’t disappoint. I own a HP Omen 16, which asides from being a beast at gaming, can get to CPU temperatures of over 80 degrees. This Cooling Pad has decreased my temperatures from 80C to around 68C which is extremely impressive. I typically play Valorant and average around 500FPS, so not only has this decreased my CPU temperatures, but it has also increased my FPS by around 60. It’s compatible for a wide range of laptops and is made of hard plastic, making it reasonably durable. The fans can get loud after level 2 however the cooling it provides makes it worth it. Overall, if your looking for a laptop cooler on a budget, this is a great value for money and is essentially everything one could need.

This fan is way cool!
Forgive my little joke! The cooler really does do a great job of cooling. I run an i7, 32MB, GTX 1060 gaming laptop from MSI that is a few years old now. I wanted a new cooler as I fell on me old one and broke the adjustable legs. TLDR; The Klim Mistral operates beyond excellent for day to day and gaming purposes. For my 'rig' the cooler is great and I suspect it will be very similar for more powerful devices. I have had other products from KLIM for other uses so thought to give this a try. Even when my old cooling pad was new and on full power it did cool the laptop but the top of the laptop still got very warm during gaming [mmorpg games mostly]. This KLIM Mistral instantly solved the heating issue! I fitted the correct seal and rear exhaust deflectors connected to the laptop the put the laptop on the cooler before switching on. I ran a diagnostic application that gives accurate temperature measurements of the laptop and set about testing. I selected an RGB light colour on cooler I liked then I ran a browser, a data base viewer, a word processor, mail app and pdf viewer all at same time - switching between them for use. On lowest setting the cooler did an adequate job of cooling and lowered the temperature a couple of degrees. On the mid fan setting the cooler managed to lower the temperature by 4 to 6 degrees. Of course the highest fan setting gave the best result and lowered the temperature by as much as 10 to 12 degrees. Not satisfied with simply leaving the testing at the stage I got to a new test was brought to play. This time after leaving the laptop [and cooler] off for about 40 minutes I fired the laptop, cooler and diagnostic tool back up. The diagnostic tool has a feature whereby it reports CPU and GPU temperatures lowest, average and highest temperatures. Now an mmorpg beta was started. I played the game for about 70 - 75 minutes to give the cooling pad a real run. For this test I had the cooler fan a highest setting. The first thing I noticed during this second test is that my palm [rested on laptop for key presses] stayed at the same cool temperature [I would even say cold]. After playing the game I shut it down and looked at the diagnostic tool temperatures and found them very cool compared to similar test done previously with no cooler pad and then with the old cooler pad [before it got damaged]. Again the new KLIM Mistral had performed admirably with all temperatures lowered by around 10 to 12 degrees. The Klim Mistral operates beyond excellent for day to day and gaming purposes. With good fan options a cosmetic light and great cooling. Likes: Looks good, easy to operate, height/angle adjustment, sturdy build, deflectors for rear output laptop heat, two sizes of 'rubber' seal to accommodate different sized laptops, adjustable RGB light, long USB cooler to laptop connecter and 3 position fan intensity. What could be changed: the long USB connector is great but maybe a little too long [remedy is to roll it up and secure with a fastener], RGB light is great but could benefit from an 'off' option [I could not find one] and the noise, especially on highest fan setting, could be improved [lowered]. Just one last thing regarding the noise of the fans. I expected the fans to be noisier as the fan setting got higher and the noise is somewhat high. However; after using the cooler for many hours while doing day to day tasks and extensive use during beta testing an mmorpg and playing other games at varying graphics, fps and other associated settings /strains I soon came to 'zone' out the noise. In fact, after a short while, I barely noticed the noise of the fans as I got lost in my various tasks. [No photos / images at time of review due to laptop and cooler being temporarily unavailable to me]

Lifespan review: 11 months of great performance until the fan motors start giving out
Great Product, This cooling pad is fast, efficient, and does what it says on the tin. My gaming laptop overheated something fierce, despite high specs, when even moderately taxed by a modern game. FPS would drop severely to single digits. With this pad, I no longer had any issues and can't recommend it enough. Why the 4* rating then? It's not the noise (which is about what you'd expect strapping big fans under your laptop), but the product lifespan. Mine lasted about 11 months all in all but now the motors in the fans are giving out and it doesn't perform to the same standard. But hey, £4.50/month for buttery smooth frames and no doubt the cooling is saving my laptops insides from degrading is a worthy tradeoff. I also use the laptop for work so it's been used pretty much 8-16 hours a day for that time.

Insanely loud, but the best cooler out there
I've used many cooling pads as I have a powerful 19" gaming laptop, but they mostly see maybe 2-3 degree drop if that. The problem is that a lot of that air is lost not THROUGH the laptop, but out of the gaps at the sides and rear where the there is space between the tray and laptop, because that is the air's easiest route out. THIS one has a thick rubber seal. Air is drawn in to the tray through rear intakes, and jetted up into a void where its ONLY way out is through your laptop. The air can't escape anywhere else. The fans are super-powerful too, so it's easily pushed through the laptop case. I can actually feel the cold air escaping around my keys! Most importantly, it shaves off between 9-12 degrees from my CPU temps (my laptop was previously throttling at 95 degrees and was almost unplayable). I cannot praise this pad highly enough. There are downsides. The first KLIM mentions themselves: this thing is LOUD, like screaming loud. You have been warned (by them and by me now - no-one will thank you for sitting next to them with this running)! The other downside is that its design is necessarily big, and I have a lot of trouble fitting it into my expansive and spacious laptop rucksack. But I honestly don't care. I was having a miserable time trying to play games on my laptop. Now, it's wonderful!

Not as described.
Has foam similar to the Everest model and not the rubber seal. Needs more magnets holding the foam onto the base. Noisy even at lowest level and very noisy at higher settings. Cools my laptop (dell precision 15, similar to XPS) but not sure if better than non sealed laptop cooler.

Amazing product for a good price
I don't normally write reviews. Got myself a gaming laptop and wanted to make sure that it lasts for a while as it is not cheap. I looked into cheap cooling pads and they all were based on fans. I live in a big city and a lot of dust is lying around. I felt like it would just fan the dust into the computer quicker. What i liked about this type of cooling pad is that it filters the air from the surroundings so no dust is delivered into the fan system at the bottom of the laptop. The whole air fanning is also isolated from the outside environment so it really cools it off much quicker than cheap fan based cooling pads. It easily keeps my laptop 20-30 degrees cooler than just laptop cooling alone. Also great price - other cooling pads of this price cost north of £100. Overall, very happy with the purchase! I just wish it fit into my backpack for travels - that's one con. Also, I saw some reviews mention that the clips at the bottom that hold the laptop from sliding prevent closing the laptop - tip - turn them the other way round, with the L aimed downwards. Your laptop will still be held up, but you will be able to close the lid!

Saved my laptop
I have an alienware m15 r7, so its designed for gaming, however I can't use a desk due to space and I know little about computers, so the fans were often unable to do their job and the CPU was overheating a lot. I had an incident with a spill on my laptop, and it got even worse - right before a heat wave. During the heatwave it was averaging 80c when just running chrome, discord, and maybe spotify. Playing any game was pretty much asking it to hit 99c and playing a game of hope before the game ends that I don't get a blue screen. I ordered this last night, got it the very next evening (without prime or fast delivery), and not only is it now able to get down to 40-50c while not running anything powerful, but while gaming its barely seeing 70, and only occasionally seeing 80 when the temperature outside is really hot (my room traps a lot of heat too). So that's a temperature difference of basically 30c and honestly sometimes more. And I'm yet to even get it to the fastest speed setting. I've seen a lot of people complain about noise, and while it is not silent, the fans of the actual pad are shockingly a lot quieter than of my laptop. On the fastest setting there is a slight buzz noise, but most times where I'd need it that high I will have headphones on, so this is no issue for me. The LEDs are something that with a lot of pads has been an issue for me, as I have both sensory issues and chronic migraines, however they aren't too bright, they're only in a few places, and are super easy to turn off. The deflectors were super easy to install with plastic guiding where to stick them, and although they are only stuck on with some kinda sticky material, if they were to fall off I could easily reattach them with superglue. My one complaint is that, entirely due to the design of my laptop, the USB lead is way too long. My laptop has a USB port at the back that I attached it with, and while this does mean it is out of my way, the lead is probably 30cm longer than it had to be. However, this is sort of a non-issue, and if it really annoys me I can simply buy a shorter one myself, and the length is good for laptops without the back USB slot.

Very effective cooler, but some (expected) fan noise.
Don't believe the blurb that this is only for laptops up to 17-inch - it fits my 19-inch Alienware Area51m perfectly, and has made a huge difference. Previously, even in normal use, the CPU was running very hot (~95C) with the fans running at 80+% trying and failing to keep it cool. I would get occasional crashes, and it wouldn't reboot until left for 5 min to cool down. Now, even with the cooler fans at speed 1, the CPU is at 55-60C and the laptop fans running at 35%. A phenomenal difference that has probably added years to the life of an expensive laptop. The noise from the cooler is noticeable but not obtrusive, especially if you habitually wear headphones as I do. Highly recommended.

Best thing ever happenned to my laptop.
Great quality product! I have a mid-range gaming laptop. It heated up to very high temperatures quickly caused really low fps in any game basically. With this it is 100% smooth and with even the most demanding games it stay warm, and warm only. I could have fried some eggs on the surface before. The sound of the device is a little bit loud, but i cannot say any other downside to it. Must have for gaming laptops!

Un must have si juegas en laptop gamer

Great product. Great Support.
Ordered this product along with a different one to replace my old laptop cooler. Both products had great reviews but this one beat the other by a few degrees :) Very happy with the purchase NOW but wasn't initially. Read on for full details but in short, this product was worth the price and keeps my laptop cooler than any of the 4 coolers I have now. This repeatedly beat the second best cooler (and not a cheap one either) by about 8 degrees Celsius on the CPU, 11 on GPU, and about 8 on the system overall. It is well built, well engineered, and has some important little features I like (i.e. the rear air deflectors that seem cheesy but actually make sense). The support that KLIMA provides is first rate and I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat. The full story: Ordered a NEW KLIMA Mistral from Amazon. Package gets here and it was obvious I had been sent a previously sold and returned cooler. The cooler was NOT packed into anything other than its original vendor box. There were old shipping labels cut off that box. The box itself was torn in a few areas and showed obvious signs of handling and wear. I opened the box and pulled out the contents. There were 2 cables loose inside the box, the air deflectors had the backing taken off for the sticky area, and the glue itself was all balled up and nasty. The rubber o-rings were also loose within the box. Nonetheless, I hooked everything up to see what it was like. One of the LEDs up front was not working and one of the fans, at idle and at level 1, was VERY rough sounding. At level 2 and 3 it matched the sound of the other fan though. I contacted KLIMA via their online support page and also sent them pictures. I expected to wait 2 or 3 days for a response and also expected to have to explain things multiple times. I had a response the next morning and right off the bat they apologized and offered to send me a new one. They explained that they did not control what Amazon sent out and that they truly were disappointed and apologetic. "They" was a support representative named Marja and she did a great job over the next few emails, albeit her native language was not English, communicating what was going on. 5 days after my initial contact with them I had my new cooler and I am loving it. Kudos to Klima and Marja for standing behind their product, righting a wrong, and showing that their stance on support isn't just words but actionable truth.
