I'm a 35 second average CFOP solver with a PB of 26 seconds. I use full PLL (a bit slowly) and two look OLL. I did have a Gan 365i2 but unfortunately it broke so I got a refund and ordered this cheaper one instead. First thing to notice is that the cube is a lot less crunchy then the 365i2. It seems to be very well lubricated and turns very smoothly. As I said earlier, I'm not particularly fast so I couldn't compare it to the very best speed cubes, but it feels like the fastest cube I've ever used. It comes with extra springs and screws so you can customise it to your preference, but I'm finding the default set-up to be just fine. Other differences between this and the 365i2 are the non rechargeable battery and lack of a gyroscope. I did like the gyroscope on the 356i2 but the extra cost just isn't worth it. The CubeStation app has come in for some criticism and some of it is justified. However, it is improving and there are some great features. I like the weekly world wide leader board which takes the average of your best 20 solves for the week and ranks them globally. This is great for comparing times with others, and gives motivation to try and get a top 20 solve to improve your average. You can have battles with others online which doesn't really interest me so I won't comment further. There's also a section on algorithms which I did look at but it does seem a bit complicated, maybe I'll take another look at some point. The app is still a bit cluttered and because it's originally in Chinese there are bits that haven't been translated well. There is so much more they could do with the stats section and hopefully they will develop it. I'd like to see - Stats on different PLL cases and time taken on each - Breakdown of how long to solve each F2L pairs - Similar analysis of AO5, AO12 and A100 that are used in the Go Cube/Rubiks Connected App - Ability to download the data so that I can carry out my own analysis in Excel As is said above, they are regularly updating the app so hopefully they will start to implement some of these things. If not, I'm sure that online timers such as Cubeast will be adding compatibility in the near future. For me, the whole concept is brilliant. Not worrying about timers and pressing the spacebar every time you complete a section of CFOP is massively liberating. I can't see that I'll ever go back to doing that. The cube is great and the app is improving. Best of all, for a price of £35 this is absolutely amazing value. Hopefully the availability issues will be sorted soon - when they are, this will become the most popular smart cube on the market.

Just tried the solve via app method and it's so amazing also the app has so many things to learn. The cube itself feels so good. It's fast but due to magnets itclicksi to place just like that. Brilliant product. It's so fun to use. Feels solid and the colours are vibrant and moves so smoothly.

Value for money is good as app is free and son can do it fast speed and with smoothness and strudiness.

Just arrived and it does not turn on. Replacing the battery already is a headache as you’ll need to wait longer to get a replacement battery and these screws are extremely tiny. It’s a terrible experience. How are they selling a product with a battery that is dead? Yike

The battery CR1632 was already flat out. Have to buy a new one to replace it.

It would not turn on. I needed to change the batteries when I purchased it. Gan support were responsive. It is fiddly to change the batteries, but cube worked well after that. I was hoping for more tutorials for beginner, but the android app was relatively basic.

The cube itself is great. It's my first magnetic cube and the difference is staggering. The app works well even though there are many strings still in Mandarin. But the best part is that some other apps work with it as well, like csTimer, so you are not stuck with just one.

We weren't sure how different it would be from normal cube but it has many helpful features. Improves timing, kids learn new algorithms, compete with players Etc. also eliminates need for a separate timer. Proving to be useful.

Ich beschäftige mich seit ca 10 Jahren mit Zauberwürfeln und bin seit über einem Jahr fortgeschrittener Speedcuber. Die Würfel von GAN sind seit dieser Zeit schon immer meine Favoriten unter den Cubes und ein wichtiger Bestandteil meiner Sammlung (über 60 verschiedene Würfel, 8 GAN-Cubes). Daher kann ich hier ein sehr gutes Feedback bezüglich der Funktionalität / Hardware geben. Bei dem Thema "Smartcubes" konnte ich bisher mit dem Giiker und Rubiks Connecteds Erfahrungen sammeln und habe daher auch auf diesem Gebiet gute Vergleichsmöglichekiten. Mit beiden bin ich an sich zufrieden, jedoch störten mich immer die Sticker. Und ganz ehrlich - ich hatte nur auf einen neuen Smartcube von GAN gewartet (die GAN 356i Serie hatte ich wegen der recht schlechten App immer gemieden) Hier nun erstmal alles in Kürze zusammengefasst: Positives: - sehr guter Speedcube - zahlreiche Einstellungsmöglichkeiten und damit individuell anpassbar - sehr leicht (im Vergleich zu anderen Samrtcubes wie dem "Giiker" zB) - die App reagiert zuverlässig auf jede Bewegung und das mit einer sehr guten Reaktionszeit - die detailreiche Auflistung des Lösungsweges inkl. visueller Darstellung - Übungsmodus für alle Algorithmen - Duell-Modus - keine Farbsticker Negatives: - das Erstellen eines Accounts kann sehr nervig sein - ich habe heirfür ca 30min gebraucht, da der Server scheinbar nicht erreichbar war - WLAN, Standort und Bluetooth müssen für die Benutzung aktiv sein - gelegentliche Abstürze der App bzw. Verbindungsabbrüche (kam bei mir 3mal in 4Stunden vor) - keine Einstellmöglichkeiten für die Stärke der Magnete - gehört bei anderen GAN-Würfeln zur Grundausstattung - nur 2 Sprachausgaben (Englisch + Chinesisch) - kein eingebautes Gyroskop (erkennt keine Rotation des Würfels) Zusammenfassung: Ja die App ist - wie auch bereits bei der GAN 356i Reihe - eine Baustelle. Jedoch habe ich in den letzten Wochen das Gefühl, dass daran regelmäßig gearbeitet wird und die Probleme weniger geworden sind. Das Anmelden und Erstellen eines Accounts benötigt auch etwas Ruhe und Nerven - aber am Ende lohnt es sich! Der GAN i Carry ist ein gelungener Smartcube, der sowohl für Anfänger als auch für Fortgeschrittene und Profis eine lohnenswerte Anschaffung ist. Die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten sind für einen Smartcube vielseitig und einmal angemeldet funktioniert alles auch fast ohne Probleme. Der Würfel fühlt sich wie ein sehr guter Cube an und ist auch ohne App ein wahres Vergnügen. Da die Mängel im Vergleich zu den Vorteilen (für mich) vernachlässigbar sind, gibt es hier von mir auch 5 Sterne und eine klare Kaufempfehlung für jeden leidenschaftlichen Cuber. Cheers

Recensione del GAN i Carry E Smart Cube Dico subito pro e contro così non siete obbligati a leggervi tutte le mie considerazioni infinite :) Pro: l’I Carry E è, tra gli smartcube, abbastanza economico, gira bene, è sufficientemente flessibile e veloce, molto vicino a uno speedcube tradizionale non smart. Va bene anche per il metodo Roux perché lo strato M gira bene. Si accoppia facilmente con l’app, che vede praticamente subito il cubo. La batteria è sostituibile e non ricaricabile (non so se sia per voi un pro, per me lo è). Non serve l'attrezzo per "stappare" i centri e regolarlo. Contro: è un cubo pesante (86 grammi), ha la finitura frosted (che può piacere o meno), non ha magneti angolo-nucleo né spigolo-nucleo, perciò l’autoallineamento non è forte. I magneti tra i pezzi sono un po' deboli. Manca il giroscopio. L’app CubeStation non è famosa per essere perfetta. Qualche volta il cubo risulta scombinato anche se risolto. Tutto sommato mi piace e mi soddisfa parecchio, e se devo dargli un voto direi 7 su 10. Premessa personale Ho confrontato l’I Carry E coi cubi che possiedo, sia smart che classici, e queste sono le mie impressioni. Tenete presente che non sono veloce a risolvere: risolvo intorno ai 30 secondi, quindi le mie considerazioni sono quelle di un cuber lento, non certo un sub10. Spero comunque possano esservi d’aiuto. Peso e sensazione generale Pesa 86 grammi, non poco. È lo stesso peso del MoYu RS3M 2020, uno dei miei main da casa. Me ne sono accorto solo pesandolo: durante l’uso sembra più leggero. Ma se per voi il peso è importante, tenetelo presente: questo non è un cubo leggero. Il feeling è quello classico dei GAN: con la tipica sensazione “papery”, "cartacea" :) molto riconoscibile. Finitura della plastica La plastica è frosted, ruvida. Non è la mia preferita, ma la preferisco comunque alla verniciatura UV che, col caldo, tende ad appiccicare le dita. In generale preferisco la finitura “glossy plastic”, cioè la plastica lucida non verniciata. Un dettaglio: l’RS3M 2020, anch’esso frosted, si lucida da solo in pochi giorni d’uso. I GAN frosted invece no: ho un GAN 12 Leap frosted da più di un anno, lo uso spesso, ma la superficie è rimasta ruvida come il primo giorno. Detto ciò, sono gusti. La finitura non è un problema drammatico, ci si abitua :) Lubrificazione e feeling al giro Non ne sono certo, ma credo arrivi con una leggera lubrificazione di fabbrica. Tuttavia, come spesso accade coi cubi GAN, il loro feeling resta coerente indipendentemente da quanto o come li si lubrifichi. Si possono rallentare o velocizzare un po’, ma la sensazione di fondo non cambia drasticamente. Se ti piace quel feeling tipico GAN, "papery" e un po' setoso, ti piacerà anche questo cubo. Se non ti piace, sappi che ha proprio quella sensazione lì. Personalmente preferisco la morbidezza dei cubi MoYu, ma riconosco che l’I Carry E è molto buono e piacevole. Uso il metodo Roux, quindi lavoro molto con lo strato M. In questo cubo, gira bene. In generale anche gli strati E ed S sono fluidi. Confronto con altri smart cube Ho un Giiker cube (marca collegata a Xiaomi, credo) e un MonsterGO 3 AI (sottomarca GAN). Il Giiker è un buon cubo, ma la sua app è più orientata al gioco che allo speedcubing, quindi è difficile fare un confronto sensato. Diverso il caso del MonsterGO, che usa la stessa app dell’I Carry E, CubeStation. Qui il confronto è possibile. L’I Carry E ha prestazioni superiori: feeling più morbido, miglior taglio degli angoli e una sensazione decisamente più vicina a un vero speedcube. Prestazioni e design interno L’I Carry E ha un design cap-style, cioè i pezzi colorati sono cappucci montati sopra un corpo primary. A differenza del design split (dove i colori si uniscono nel pezzo stesso), i cap-style tendono, di solito, a essere un poco più rigidi e precisi, un po' meno elastici, secondo me. Nonostante questo, il corner cutting del GAN E è buono: taglio dritto vicino ai 45 gradi e taglio inverso quasi line-to-line. Non è un miracolo, ma per uno smartcube va benissimo. Il MonsterGO, in confronto, taglia molto meno. Credo dipenda dalla forma dei centri, che nel MonsterGO sono molto larghi sotto, tra i pezzi, e probabilmente limitano la flessibilità. L’I Carry E ha centri più tradizionali, simili a quelli di uno speedcube "normale". Magneti e allineamento L’I Carry E utilizza magneti tradizionali tra i pezzi. Non ha magneti angolo-nucleo attraenti o spigolo-nucleo repulsivi. I magneti angolari sono visibili e incapsulati, ma non regolabili (vedi foto). Il risultato è un comportamento naturale nell'allineamento. Il cubo non scatta “a casa” con forza come il WRM v9 o il GAN 12 Leap, per capirci. Non so se considerarlo un pregio o un difetto: a me piace così, perché il cubo resta fluido e non aggressivo. Probabilmente per qualcuno i magneti saranno deboli. Se fossi più veloce, forse vorrei uno snap più forte. Magari ci arriverò. Per fortuna, per regolare il cubo "stappando" i centri, non è necessario quell'attrezzo che si usa, ad esempio, sui GAN 15, che sembra un "pulsantone". Qui basta fare leva con le unghie (e meno male). Una volta tolto il cappuccio il meccanismo di regola con una spilletta che sembra quella per estrarre la sim dal telefono (che è compresa nella scatola). App CubeStation La famigerata app GAN CubeStation… è migliorata e va detto. Sul Play Store ho alzato la valutazione da una a tre stelle per incoraggiamento. Sorvolo sui problemi passati, e dico solo che oggi funziona un po' meglio, ma è ancora ben lontana dall’essere perfetta. Con l’I Carry E non ho avuto alcun problema di accoppiamento: basta avere bluetooth e posizione attivi sul telefono (o tablet), muovere lo strato U del cubo, e CubeStation lo rileva subito. Questa cosa funziona bene e non era scontata. Al momento in cui scrivo, la schermata di login è tutta in cinese, e si accetta qualcosa di cui non si capisce il contenuto. Inoltre, il metodo Roux non si può più selezionare come metodo predefinito nelle risoluzioni. Gli Algoritmi da imparare del Roux ci sono, ma non posso impostarlo nelle solve. Nelle versioni precedenti sì, ora no. Boh. Per confronto, l’app QiYi Smart Player è graficamente più chiara, semplice, e meglio progettata. Peccato sia ovviamente compatibile con i cubi smart QiYi che, per ora, qui su Amazon non ho trovato (e, anche in questo caso, con un po' di cinese non tradotto qui e là). Tornando a Cubestation, qualche volta capita che l'I Carry E, entrando nella app, risulti mischiato anche se risolto (succede anche con il MonsterGO, ma quasi mai). Forse perché li risolvo anche fuori dall'app? Comunque, basta resettarli da risolti dentro la sezione "device" e per la sessione non daranno questo problema. Batteria e durata Uno dei motivi per cui ho scelto questo cubo è che non ha una batteria ricaricabile, ma funziona con pile sostituibili. Quelle ricaricabili, una volta esauste, mi costringerebbero forse a buttare tutto il cubo. Tra l’altro, dimentico sempre di caricare le batterie. Finirei col cubo scarico ogni volta che mi serve. Preferisco così. Il MonsterGO che ho da anni funziona ancora con le batterie originali. Perciò immagino e spero che anche l’I Carry E duri anni prima di dover cambiare le pile. Considerazioni finali Il GAN i Carry E è un ottimo compromesso tra performance da speedcube e funzionalità smart. Ha un feeling molto simile a un cubo da speedcubing tradizionale. Nonostante le limitazioni rispetto ai modelli superiori (niente magneti avanzati, batteria ricaricabile o giroscopio), si comporta come un vero cubo da velocità, con in più la possibilità di tracciare le risoluzioni e fare sfide online tramite l’app. Chi cerca un cubo smart che mantenga la sensazione di un classico speedcube, con una costruzione forse semplice ma che funziona, lo troverà - io credo - perfetto nella sua semplicità ed economicità. It is my first smart bucket and I thought it is of good quality and complies with what it says, what they do have to keep in mind is that the battery is not rechargeable and has to be changed, but I think it is not a problem because, as I understand it, it lasts 300 hours.
