How do I stop them from rapidly spinning faster and faster? It burns my hands?

The rods in a copper sleeve (the short end) that you hold. Your fingers or hand should only touch the sleeve. Arms should be bent and held at right angles to your body evenly spaced...

So the rods are made in the good old usa? i want to be sure they aren't china junk?

All the parts including the rods, handles, and end caps have been purchased from American manufacturers and also assembled in the USA.

Are dowsing rod good to locate sewer lines?

Yes but they react any place that the ground has been broken or trenched. You are not locating a sewer line you are picking up where the ground is excavated. You will be able to locate anything that is buried. I use a set of welding rods and use them regularly to locate underground utilities. They are definitely 50/50.-

They are not the same length. Do I return them?

That's strange and sorry about this issue. Even though a bit different in the length of the rod doesn't affect your dowsing, you can definitely return it and purchase a new set.
