If youโre buying a garment steamer for the first time you need to buy some protective mittens as the steam is really hot, much more than I expected. These mittens are excellent because theyโre thin so you can still use your hands properly but they also work very effectively to protect your hands from the steam. Also theyโre a bit space age which is nice.

The mitts are not elongated and are just the length of my hand, finger tip to wrist. They are not particularly thick either but do seem to be waterproof. Although I ordered the extended mitts, which is what i wanted, I received the shorter ones and also the pad.
