This Arcturus Insulated Tarp is an absolute workhorse. I've used it for everything from ground cover while camping to emergency shelter, and it performs exceptionally well. The insulation layer actually works—you can feel the difference compared to regular tarps when used as a blanket or ground barrier. The heavy-duty construction is no joke. This isn't some flimsy emergency blanket that tears if you look at it wrong. It's thick, durable, and built to handle real outdoor use. I've dragged it across rough ground, used it in rain and wind, and it still looks great. The grommets are reinforced and haven't shown any signs of tearing out. The thermal properties make it incredibly versatile. It reflects body heat when used as a blanket, insulates from cold ground when used underneath a sleeping bag, and works great as a windbreak or shelter. Having something that serves multiple purposes is invaluable when camping or in emergency situations. The size is generous and it's surprisingly packable for how substantial it is. Durable. Foldable. Reflects heat well. I used these to reflect heat from my campfire. It didn’t tear or rip at all. Folded right back up for travel. Great to keep 1-2 people warm. It isn’t huge. I’m a big dude and could easily wrap it around me completely.

Owned a similar tarp by a different maker until it was stolen. But I have to say, my old tarp had nothing on this! This tarp feels really durable and the large grommets are extra reinforced. It's big enough for all my needs. Was also pleased that it came with a storage bag made of the same material (including the reflective surface on the inside!) which makes stowing it a breeze. Definitely a great item for a great price. Highly recommend!

Perfect size for me. Bought 2 and glad I did. It could use a few more gromet holes thought. Used mine as a sleeping bag and wind barrier. It's light enough to carry around, yet thick and strong enough to stay/stand upright with a little help. I've wrapped myself in it, standing against a wall of sorts and laying down, huge difference. It's not a warming blanket but definitely great for temporary protection from cold and wind.

Very well made, and has been a lifesaver, keeping the cold air off out of our Peacock pen with this terribly cold winter. Handy yet sturdy grommets on all four corners are useful for tying down.

Does the job! I wrap it around my dog's crate in the car so it keeps warm longer when we're running errands together in the cold weather. It's great to walk back with her and see that the crate is still nice and warm when she gets back in. It also makes the crate more denlike, so she is very comfortable in there. I like the camo b/c it also blends in and doesn't bring attention to it.

This blanket is big and heavy, great for auto, RV and boat emergency kits. Comes in a zippered storage bag. It's meant for long-term use, not a throwaway.

I purchased this tarp after seeing it used on the "Corporal's Corner" survival channel. Around 5x7 feet, just the perfect size to fit under an average 2- or 3-man tent, it comes in its own little zipper case (for easy pack-down) and is super sturdy, but not too heavy. It will keep most rocks and twigs from poking a hole in the floor of your tent. The second night we camped, it turned freezing cold. This tarp made the difference between crawling in shame to a hotel versus toughing it out with sub-freezing temperatures. While we were never "warm" (we still had to put on multiple layers of clothing), the reflective surface definitely helped. TYPE OF CAMPING: 1. LONG-TERM TREKKING: If weight is important to you (i.e., if you're hiking the entire length of the Appalachian Trail), this tarp will add a bit of weight to your pack. If you buy this (I recommend you do either way), you'll want to make sure you have the correct ratio of weight-to-usefulness when you compute the warmth-ratio of your sleeping bag and sleeping pad as you'll be very sad if you have to leave this nice tarp on the trail when reality hits about how much gear you have to carry. 2. MINIMALIST CAMPING: If you are roughing it with just a survival poncho and some para-cord for a makeshift shelter, than this is definitely the tarp you want to carry with you. It completely blocks wet ground, or keeps the rain off your head if you suspend it from the handy grommets, and the reflective surface is way better than those flimsy mylar "survival blankets". While this is called a "blanket" it is more of a sturdy tarp.

I used this as a floor in my tent to protect it. This is very well built, can be very stiff but being the first time I used it that is expected. It was -15 Celsius so that also made it very tough to fold up. The tie loops are great quality and made well. The pouch it came in worked well for keeping items in as it was also reflectics material inside. Glad I spent the little bit of extra $$.
