Basic OBD-2 reader, great for troubleshooting, great for making sure car is ready for emissions
This is not a miracle tool! An OBD-2 reader READS CODES off the ECU. It does not diagnose. It does not know anything except what the code is. It works great for that, it is accurate, easy to use, and inexpensive ($24 now? I probably paid that 9+ years ago). This is a passive scanner, it can clear codes but not much else. It can't, for example, select what tire you have on your Honda (our Honda has 2 rim diameters and 2 tire types for each diameter to choose from, a fancy OBD-2 tool will allow you to select which one) or activate your ABS when you're bleeding brakes (like on our Suburban). I got this originally Nov 30, 2016, because my car had a check engine light ("CEL") on. I was an automotive service writer but tracking down a sensor problem was very time consuming and I didn't want to put my guys through that (the lead tech did use his OBD-2 tool to bleed the brakes on my Suburban though). So I did the troubleshooting myself. Ends up that my O2 sensor code (P0037, heater element in downstream O2 sensor is not working) ended up a burnt pin on the ECU! I had to replace the ECU to get the car to pass emissions. My registration had expired due to the emissions. After the new ECU I drove very discretely at night across the state line with the ANCEL plugged in, checked it whenever I came to a stop, and when it was ready I literally drove it to my work (where we do emissions), parked the car, and called my wife for a ride. The next morning someone ran it through emissions (I was not allowed to since it's my car) and it was good. Another car had an intermittent CEL (Chevy Suburban). Knock sensor. This vehicle was known to have intermittent knock sensor issues, especially around rain/moisture weather (water pools where the sensor is). I used the Ancel to clear the light then to see when the vehicle was ready for emissions, then brought it to emissions. I ended up replacing the knock sensors maybe 6 years later, but I passed 3 emissions tests with the sensors working only intermittently. The last time I used it was about 5 months ago, needed to pass emissions but had a new battery (and the engine was out so there was no power for a bit) and therefore the system wasn't ready ("incomplete" status for the various self checks). I drove around with the ANCEL plugged in, checked it every now and then, and when it was ready I went home and parked the car. Passed emissions the next day. I really like this tool, it's simple, useful, easy to use.

Check engine light
I found this helped me feel at peace when my engine light went on and my dealer couldn’t get me in right away. The unit is easy to fit and work. I would have given 5 stars if there was a greater description of what the error code actually meant. I knew the error was not “engine about to blow up”. So, to finalize this review; the device works well easy to use…just you do with the error code could be better.

Excellent OBD2 Scanner – Simple, Fast, and Worth Every Penny
I purchased the ANCEL AD310 after my check engine light came on, and it turned out to be one of the best automotive tools I've added to my garage. This scanner did exactly what it claimed it would do and made diagnosing the issue incredibly simple. Setup couldn't have been easier. I plugged it into my vehicle's OBD2 port, turned the key on, and within seconds it pulled the fault code. The screen is easy to read, the menus are straightforward, and you don't need to be a mechanic to understand how to use it. After making the repair, I was able to clear the code just as quickly. What impressed me most was how fast and accurate it was. Instead of guessing what was wrong or paying a shop diagnostic fee, I had the information I needed immediately. The unit feels well-built, the cable is durable, and it's compact enough to keep in the glove box or toolbox without taking up much space. For the price, this scanner delivers tremendous value. If you're looking for a reliable code reader that reads and clears check engine light codes without any hassle, the ANCEL AD310 is an excellent choice. It does exactly what it advertises, works quickly, and gives you peace of mind when vehicle issues arise. Highly recommended for both beginners and experienced DIY mechanics.

The Engine Code Reader You Need!
Synopsis - One of the best engine code readers on the market, and for the price, it's not even close. Was in the need for a engine code reader due to the Wrangler popping a check engine light. While these devices are all pretty much the same, the ease of access and reliability of what the code is without having to look it up are the two biggest factors that make this stand out. The nice thing with the ANCEL is that you plug it into the port, turn the vehicle on, and follow the on screen commands to read the engine code(s). There is no software or application needed to get it to work which makes it a one-stop-shop. It took all of 15 seconds for the reader to identify the code, display it, and let me know what it was linked to. I reset it once just to see if someone was wrong or if it popped the wrong code, but the second try it came back the same way. The accuracy is just about as good as it gets as this same device is seen in numerous automotive shops around my area. Overall, you really cannot go wrong with this easy to transport, easy to store, and easy to use code reader. It's great to keep in the garage or in your car's glove box or container in your vehicle. 5 Engine Fault Stars out of 5!

Works great
Great! So convenient to have and easy to use. I no longer have to drive to the auto parts store to borrow their code readers. Wish I had gotten this years ago.

Good for initial diagnosis of your car's engine warning light.
Helpful. When engine light or other problems occur, you can interrogate the ecu. It should help you decide where to take your car for remedy, and potentially saving you time and money. Very well packed and presented product.

Simple. Cost effective. Saves you worries and money.
Bought this scanner after my check engine light came on. It turned out to be a loose gas cap which from the other reviews seems to be a commonality. The scanner was very easy to use, i just looked up online where the ODB2 port on my subaru was and then i plugged it and and was able to read the code within a few minutes, and confirmed the issue. After tightening the gas cap, it still persisted, so I used the scanner to manually clear the check engine light. Very simple and effective. I like that it doesn't require batteries, a phone app, or a subscription like everything wants you to these days. It's a simple plug-and-play tool that does exactly what I need: read and clear engine codes. For the price, it has already paid for itself by saving me a trip to the mechanic. If you're looking for a basic, reliable code reader to diagnose the lights on your dashboard to have more peace of mind, I would definitely recommend it.

Completamente recomendable ☺️
