you must install this inside the wall
My plumber is a dope so he didn't pay attention to it and we had to install it after the wall was closed but I sprayed the valves black and it works fine. Takes a little getting used to as for the mixing, but it is a good product. Not sure why these things are so pricey. must be the novelty factor.
