Review: We donate to our local food banks often but we're not sure it kids understood why we think it's important. This book goes through a little girl's explanation of a no money day, when Mom doesn't eat and they don't have money for food. An adult will have to fill in the gaps but this is a great starting point. Seems apolitical to me. Just mentions the kind people who give. It is British but that really doesn't affect anything. Review: What a sensitive and caring approach I loved this book when I read it at a friends house and had to add it to my library.

Sweet book with illustrations that keenly interested my 4-year-old granddaughter. It also made her think about everything she could do without money and how some don't have a choice.

Everyone needs to read this especially all the U.K. MPs who voted against the FSM (free school meals) debate and agreed with leaving thousands of children hungry! All the Tory voters need to read this as well - welcome to the real world!

I bought as a school teacher to share with my class- a lovely book about how a family still have fun when there is no money to spend. Touches on when mum and daughter go to a food bank to help them.
