Expansive
Managing ADHD gives wonderful insights and information on the attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. After teaching for years, I thought I knew a great deal about ADHD. This book has greatly expanded my knowledge and compassion.

The book is a quick read, in a nutshell type of book. I like that it stresses these students need accommodations for the long term. My disappointment in the book is it states evidence based in the title and does not source in the text what study can be drawn from to support the technique. It does give a reference page in the back but it is not cross referenced in the text. Also, I could not find a study to support the time theory. I see they don't experience time the same as typical kids through experience and I was excited to see this in the text thinking, again by the title, that I would have evidence to support the theory but no. None of the studies referenced appeared to explore that aspect. I would have given it a 3 star for the evidence based but it was more than OK for easy to use content.

The ONLY expert author you need for REAL facts and strategies.
As a sufferer of ADHD myself, a parent of ADHD children and a teacher and advocate of ADHD students, I cannot praise Dr. Barkely's work enough. There is a LOT of rubbish printed out there about this disorder, often made to look factual when it isn't. If you want real information and strategies that really work to support children with ADHD, then Dr. Barkley's work should be the first and last place you look.

Very helpful
I have ordered this book as a reference for my term paper and I could find all information I wanted to know. Very good to read and understand. A lot of details about the disease itself and useful suggestions for teachers and parents, too.

Must have
I purchased two copies of this book in 2019 and still refer to it today. One copy went to the school teacher and one is home with me. This way we can refer to pages with each-other and bounce ideas back and forth. It has been a guide point in managing my sons symptoms. This read is essential and its methods are relevant to our time.
