battery elimination circuit
if you have an electric radio controlled car you probably have a BEC built into your electric speed controller ESC these usually have 5 to 6v output and about 2-3 amps when pushing the model to its max sometimes the ESC starves its own internal BEC and your radio might glitch or if its a 2.4 ghz it will loose connection and have to rebind...not a good thing when your going fast as this can take seconds for communications to be reestablished by mounting this bec directly to your batteries, it will not be starved for power, so the risk of the radio malfuktioning is much less, also this BEC is much more powerful, almost 10 amp at 6v this is a lot of power ! so even if you have very power hungry servos or are powering lights or something else this will do great with power comes risks and you have to be very careful not to short it out, this unit has no short circuit protection, and will burst into flames if shorted, but this shouldnt be a problem its fully programmable using the castle link usb device and a computer running the castle link software...this is unfortunately the only way to adjust it...many other BEC have jumpers to configure them...but with the computer you have the option of very finely tune the BEC in increments of 0.1v to get exactly the voltage you need this thing is a switching power supply, and will emit radio frequency noise, so it should be mounted as far away from your receiver as possible, i mount mine next to my ESC, the wire coming out of it is pretty long and should leave you with plenty of options...use servo or double sided tape to mount this will not only power your radio controlled models...but you can also use it for many other purposes, i have built a bicycle light system, where i use a 4S 14.8v lipo battery to power two P7 900 lumen LED's and a cree q5 red led...all powered by this little thing, those p7 led's are very powerful and the cree is no slouch either, but this little switching powersupply can feed them all 3, makes for a great bicycle light system with 1800 lumens in front and about 200 rearwards, it will have motorists notice you in traffic, making biking a bit safer in the dark this thing can not output more volts than its fed so for a 6v application your battery should be more than 6v, if the current drops below the set voltages the output of this BEC will be lower as well if your using it in wet applications you should shield it from moisture, thick divers silicone grease can keep water out or put a balloon around it great product, definably recommended

Works great. I have them in several airplanes.

The Best BEC I've Ever Used - Hands Down
In my opinion, Castle Creations is the best name in the business. Every product I buy from Castle makes me realize how bad all the budget RC products I've been using really are. Castle products are worth spending a little more on. This BEC is no different. It has a very high output compared to it's size (It's about 2/3 the size of a AA battery). Being small, I figured it would get hot putting out 3-4 Amps, but it doesn't really. I can pull it off the heli and comfortably hold it in my fist discomfort. And then there's CastleLink... one tool that really puts CC products above the competition. I can program any output voltage in increments of 0.1V ! No more having to choose between 5V or 6V with a jumper. If I want 5.3V or 6.8V or whatever, it takes just a few seconds to change. This BEC makes me realize just how crude my old ones are.

Castle saves the day!!!
I was able to get this installed in my Axial Wraith yesterday. I am running a Savox 2270 servo that puts out a ton of torque!!! Well, to achieve that, it needs some serious power. Before adding the BEC, I was having issues with my ESC (AE SC700BL) browning out. It would jitter and steering would go out, fan would slow on the esc and the truck would act like it had a broken gear when driving. Very strange! I was crawling with a few friends, showed the guys what was happening and they all unanimously told me the problem. I went inside, installed the BEC (I hadn't gotten to it yet) and came back out. Continued to run the rest of the afternoon with NO ISSUES at all!!! It was so incredible not to have any brownouts. Later, we upped the voltage with a buddies programmer to 6V (Programmer is sold separately and is needed along with a computer and software to make changes). In just a few seconds, I was running at 6V to my servo with absolutely no slowing down and TONS more torque! Default setting is 5.1V which did work fine. Installation: Wiring is easy if you are able to solder. It needs to be wired into the power connection from your battery with the RED and BLACK wires then, simply plug into a port on your receiver. MAKE SURE TO PULL THE RED WIRE FROM YOUR ESC that is going to your receiver. If you don't do this part, you will run the risk of burning out your ESC and or receiver. I used an exacto blade and removed the pin from the connection, folded over the pin to the wire and put a 1/2" long piece of heat shrink over it so if I ever need that wire in the future, it is still there. Do yourself the favor and DON'T CUT THE WIRE! So the moral of the story... BUY THIS for high amp drawing equipment!!!

Working well
Only downside... too bad you have to buy another part to set the regulators output voltage. Wish it could come pre set from the factory. Ive used these on multiple crawler rigs and never had any issues. My current rig uses one for some fans, and then a 2nd one runs a belly camera and DVR board.

Excellent BEC, I have about 4 of these in use in different planes. I trust these external BECs more than the ESC's internal BEC to provide power to my servos, especially if I'm stressing my ESC, which I tend to. I've never had one fail. and highly recommend this product. In my latest plane, I power the system with a 6S Lipo and use this BEC to output 6V to the receiver and servos. They're small, light, easy to place, and so far very reliable.

Nice bec for what I neede. I'm using it in a drone with a pixhawk controller and 4s lipo. This light weight bec can deliver a good 5 volts up to 10 amps. So far so good in my application. Works well.

Works great, programmable, never had a problem. Would be nice to be able to set the voltage without having to buy the Castle Link but then I guess you wouldn't be able to set it at the exact voltage that you want. Still deserves 5 stars.

Good BEC. Anything below 2s and above 6s will kill it.
