Question 1

will this keep mice out?

Accepted Answer

From the manufacturer since I requested how it deters critters from eating it.

Dear Mr. U******ff,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Great Stuff™ Pestblock Insulating Foam Sealant is a pesticide-free method to physically block critters, bugs and other pests from your home. The formulation contains an additional distasteful agent that strongly discourages consumption of the foam and protects the integrity of the physical barrier, keeping pests outside where they should be. The sealant blocks insects and pests from entering the home by sealing gaps, cracks and holes where they commonly enter. In addition to blocking pests from the home, Great Stuff Pestblock Insulating Foam Sealant air-seals holes, gaps and cracks to help keep air from leaking out of or seeping into the home’s envelope, saving on heating and cooling costs.

Best regards,

Information provided:
I'm trying to find out the difference between pest block and the other products. I have used several your products including the pond one but the pest block is new to me. I've tried to find the information and I see nothing that makes it different in your literature. I found one post that said it had denatonium benzoate but I don't is in your literature or msds. Specifically what makes it different?

Question 2

can this be used to fill in crack in concrete?

Accepted Answer

Yes but only a large deep crack. It will dry and swell out of the intended space and need to be trimmed. It will not be hard like concrete, and it doesn't stay gray. It turned yellow like all other Great Stuff I've used.

Question 3

Can this be use to insulate outlets? We have ants coming in and out of ours.

Accepted Answer

Do not use any expandable foam to seal outlets. It can push things out of place; additionally, it makes it very difficult and messy to ever change your outlets later on, as the foam expands and can seal up the wires. I have seen this once, in a house, and it was not a good idea.
To seal things up, I would suggest silicone caulking or something that will not expand.

Question 4

can a small amount of the spray be flushed down the toilet?

Accepted Answer

No! Please don't do that!!! This stuff is not only water resistant (won't dissolve!!!), it is rigid and would be like flushing a plastic toy down your toilet! Just toss it in the garbage!
