The Nottingham Humidor

Great looking humidor. Plenty big for my needs.I am a bit concerned as the top does not close tightly. I am hoping it will retain humidity.The lid should close very snuggly which it does not. You don't buy such a nice looking humidor to place weights or books on top to keep it closed.I've seasoned it and placed my electronic humidifier inside. Let's see how it goes.The jury is still out.

I've had the humidor a little over a month (just a little too long to return it). The box is nice and decently made. The problem is that I've been seasoning the box for over a month with 4 boveda 84% seasoning packs and the internal humidity will not move past 74%. This tells me that possibly the seal is bad or the box was built poorly. Either way, the time it takes to properly season and find out is beyond the return policy.

Very poor craftsmanship and attention to detail; low quality made in China product. The metal studs were carelessly hammered into the wood, multiple chip marks and damage from them not being centered; some only partially hammered into the wood. The lid does not close tight, I could almost slid a dime between the gap. The cedar walls were not aligned well in the corners and I could basically pull them straight out due to not being secured. Even if fully seasoned I highly doubt this humidor would swell correctly and hold humidity at an acceptable level for more than a week. The base cedar bottom appeared to be extremely thin and had black discoloring in a large portion. Minor glue marks throughout the inside. Way too much wrong for this to be an acceptable product.

This humidor is huge. I just got it yesterday and started seasoning it. The upper tray is warped slightly but I'm hoping it will relax after moisture is slowly introduced. The hygrometer has a nice weight to it which in my mind translates to quality. The finish of this box is amazing and looks like it should be sitting on a 10K desk. When the lid is closes it feels snug. This is my third humidor and by far the nicest.
