Medical directions are often "ice for twenty minutes," and now that most available-in-stores ice packs have changed to those tiny beads they just don't seem to get very cold to begin with or stay cold even half that time. My hope was this would - and it absolutely does. I was using this for someone post knee surgery so I wanted to wrap it around. It worked great! Rolled it a little in my hands to loosen it right out of the freezer then wrapped around the knee and used the velcro to keep it in place. Certainly warms a bit, but maintains it's cold the entire directed 20 minutes. Put back in the freezer it was cold again and ready to go in an hour to comply with the icing directions. Generous size too - covered the knee above and below completely, wrapped around completely (on an average-large guy). So it seems like it would be a good size for lower or upper back too.

I have severe neck pain due to a messed up vertebrae. The MR.ICE Neck Ice Pack for Injuries Reusable Cold Pack for Neck - Gel Ice Pack for Neck and Shoulders looked like it would work for my pain. It is a life saver (muscle saver). You can use it as a cold pack by putting it in the freezer or a heating pad by putting it in the microwave. The cold and heat treatments work very good for me/ I love it. I will highly recomend it to family and friends and am completely satisfied purchasing it.

Works well as a heating pad -- have microwaved a few times. My only issue is that it isn't really long enough to cover the shoulders, mostly just the neck area... would be great if it were just a few inches longer. Good option if you don't want an electric one.

Easy to use but does not stay cool. Very thin product. Probably good for a very minimal injury quick icing.

I just had knee surgery and needed a good ice pack to help relieve the swelling and pain. This ice pack is very easy to use and wraps around the leg nicely and is large enough to keep it nice and cold. For me it last at least a good hour.

Stays soft when frozen

I have a knee injury and was having trouble keeping the ice pack from slipping off. The sleeve and the elastic Velcro strap fixed that issue. I love the way the ice pack conforms to whatever it is needed for.

Lately, I’ve had quite a bit of neck pain thanks to long hours at a desk and the general joy of aging. I was genuinely excited to retire the $2 bag of frozen vegetables I've been using for the past several months. This… was not it. As a "neck ice pack", well... you can call it one but it doesn't really function like one. The side straps are extremely stiff and awkward, and the pack never quite molds to the neck or makes proper contact--which is kind of the whole point. Since it's so stiff it needs to be tight to actually make skin contact. And when it's tight it feels like you're getting mildly strangled since it puts pressure right on your carotid arteries. Despite what the product photos might suggest, it doesn’t wrap, drape, or function anything like what’s shown in the pictures. I decided to return the product and stick to my bag of frozen vegetables.
