It's both. The silicone keeps the skin moist & supple while the weight levels out the area. Think of it this way, it's a barrier like a bandaid since moist clean skin heals faster such as a cut finger. This is why silicone pads are highly recommended for healed new scars to reduce it quicker & is used in burn units & after skin grafts. It's just a really great multi-use product.

Can you use one pair longer than the two weeks it says in the instructions? I have been using them for almost a month now and they are still sticky.

Yes. I wear them as long as I can. You can wash them too, per the instructions

Are these comfortable to wear all night?

They are comfortable enough, but could come off unless you sleep on your back all night. I put them on first thing in the morning & leave on for a couple of hours, but you can certainly wear them while sleeping. They work.

How does this product work with under eye cream? Does the silicone prevent under eye creams from penetrating the skin if you apply it after the pads?

The pads need to be placed on clean dry skin, no eye cream. The eye cream will prevent the pad from sticking. The pads work by drawing the skins own moisture to the surface to plump up existing wrinkles. You can wear the pads every other night and use your eye cream in between, or use your eye cream in the morning.
