Oh Snoogle, I don't know what I would do without you!
I really, REALLY wanted to be one of those moms-to-be who glows through her entire pregnancy. You know the type, with the perfect, round bump, rosy cheeks, who craves pickles and ice cream and runs around the house "nesting" in anxious anticipation of her little bundle of joy's arrival. I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE BEING PREGNANT. Well, I wasn't able to live up to that picture of pregnancy perfection (and really, who does?)... I'm more of the puking, raging, bumbling, miserable rhymes-with-witch kind of pregnant woman. You know the type, the sleep-deprived, overly irritable, bloated brain-dead zombie with leg and back cramps, and agita that won't quit. Up until I got my Snoogle, I EFFING HATED BEING PREGNANT. Now, I can't say that the Snoogle made me into the kind of mom-to-be I had dreamed of being, but it's made my life a whole lot less miserable. For one, I can finally sleep at night, and in a bed, too! Before, I got maybe three hours of sleep on the couch if I was lucky. It's great to be able to sleep in a real bed again, and honestly, it's only because of this big freaking pillow that I'm able to. I stayed at my mom's house two nights this past week without it and UGH! WORST. SLEEP. EVER. It's hard to explain this to someone who's not pregnant, but if you're reading this, I'm guess you are pregnant (or someone close to you is... someone close enough to you that you'd consider buying a $55 pillow because you care that much/really need to shut them up/miss the "trying" part of having a baby and hope this will do the trick, at least)... but pregnancy makes you NEED weird things. Me? I needed something bolstered up against my back. I don't know why. Basically I needed cushions to hug and or smother me to sleep. Well, Snoogle delivers a nice hug, without too much smother. It doesn't smother my husband in our queen size bed, neither, nor does it take up too much room so that he's forced to sleep elsewhere, which is (usually) a good thing. My cat, Pickles, also seems to have claimed part of it as her bed, so she's happy with it too. As if sleep isn't a good enough reason, the Snoogle also helps with the agita, as I can prop myself up a bit at night, and my restless legs can rest a little easier with the bottom part between my knees. I'm not the picture of pregnancy perfection, but I'm a lot less terrible to be around now that I'm rested and overall much more comfortable. While I can go on and on about the wonders of the Snoogle, I'll spare you. I will say, however, that YOU NEED TO BUY THE BETTER PILLOWCASE SEPARATELY. For the love of god, DO NOT FORGET TO BUY THE PILLOWCASE UPGRADE. You can find some good ones here: Snoogle Chic Jersey - Snoogle Replacement Cover with Zipper for Easy Use - Charcoal And yeah, they're another $25. For $55, you'd expect the actual Snoogle to come with a soft, easy to remove and replace cover, I mean it should! But it doesn't. As if babies don't cost enough as it is... Still, this is probably the best 80 bucks I'll spend during my pregnancy, especially considering I was on modified bed rest for weeks on end. After all, you really can't put a price tag on a happy, or at least less miserable, pregnancy. I love helping out others (especially moms-to-be!) with my experiences, so if you've found this helpful, please click yes below to let me know!

Greatly enjoy my pillow
I am 8 months pregnant and have been using this pillow since I was about 4 months. I wasn't having any trouble sleeping, but figured I'd get ahead of the game by getting this pillow....and I absolutely love it! Even at 8 months, I am still sleeping really well. I find this pillow to be very comfy. I've read of others using this in addition to other pillows, but I actually use only this pillow. I mainly use it the way the pictures here show, with having the long part in front of me being my favorite. Aside from sleeping with it I also fold it up and use it to prop myself up in bed, or to put under my legs to elevate them. There really are a bunch of uses for it. I enjoy it so much that I've brought it with me when staying at either a friend's or a family member's house to ensure I sleep well. I have a lot of discomforts from pregnancy, but surprisingly back pain is not one of them (even though I had back pain pre-pregnancy) and I really think it's because of this pillow. I may even consider using it post-pregnancy for this reason alone. As others have mentioned, there are some not so awesome qualities such as the pillow case being a bit difficult to get on and off. Honestly, I'm not sure how they'd avoid that, it's a long, skinny pillow. If they used a zipper or buttons it would just make using the pillow uncomfortable since there's technically no top or bottom so at some point you'd be laying on them. I do wish there were pillow cases to put over it though. The material can get a bit scratchy and mine has a few patches of lint balls, but it's just a minor problem for me. And it certainly larger than a standard pillow, but that honestly doesn't bother me too much. I've been running quite warm during my pregnancy so haven't been getting under the covers anyway, so it really hasn't posed a problem for me, but I can see where people may be annoyed by this. All-in-all, I have thoroughly enjoyed my pillow and while it's not a cheap pillow, I feel it was worth it.

My new favorite thing in the world!!!
I have had my Snoogle for about 12 hours and I am IN LOVE with it!!! Last month I had an emergency appendectomy and needed something to replace an L shaped pillow that had recently been ruined. I normally sleep in a fetal position and can only sleep if my pillow is vertical, so the L shape pillow was perfect. However, after surgery I could only sleep on my back because my incisions and internal stitches hurt sleeping any other way. I needed something that provided a bit more support and versatility. At first I purchased 2 memory foam wedges; one for under my knees and one for my head and upper back. I couldn't even get through one night with those...they were soooo uncomfortable it just made matters worse! A week later I actually ended up in the hospital again with an almost fatal case of peritonitis. Luckily, I made it through but while I was there a nurse suggested this pillow, saying it was a more versatile, bigger, more comfortable Boppy. I was happy to find it here on Amazon for such a great price. I did wash the cover right away because it had a very new, plastic smell, but it was definitely from the packaging and not the pillow itself. The cover is a little tricky putting on the the first time, but if you put it on like you'd put on pantyhose, it's much easier. The pillow itself is firm but not overly so that it's in any way stiff or uncomfortable. It's still squishy, but not so much that it collapses and loses its fluffiness or support during or after use. Granted, I just got it so we'll see how the stuffing stands up after having it awhile. The cover is pretty simple in design making it an easy sewing project should you choose to customize it instead of trying to find new covers for it. All the different position possibilities make this pillow a great choice for anyone who is pregnant, just given birth, recovering from surgery or just loves having a ton of pillows around them while they sleep, watch movies, or read. The card it comes with also shows you a number of positions and what they're good for and help with. This is so much more than just your average body pillow, and I highly highly recommend it!

Ambivalent to the Snoogle. The Pros and Cons.
Like others, I jumped on the Snoogle wagon when I became pregnant (I'm 5 months along now), hoping it would help stave off the inevitable aches and pains pregnant women are notorious for experiencing. This is my first baby, so I wanted to be prepared and was excited to have a sleeping tool that would help me transition from being a mostly stomach sleeper to a side sleeper. A couple of months in, my main feeling is that of ambivalence towards the good old Snoogle. I do enjoy it for non-sleep relaxation: laying down, watching TV in bed, etc. It's versatile, firm and comfortable to curl up on and offers a ton of support you'd need a whole host of pillows to replicate. For actual sleeping, though, the Snoogle is much too large and cumbersome. I'm a mover when I sleep and having to adjust and re-adjust this baby at night as I'm moving does more to keep me awake than being uncomfortable would. It's hard to sleep in bed with my husband as well because either there's a large barrier between us throughout the night, or, if I place the Snoogle's long side facing out towards the edge of the bed, I have a hard time getting up the million times a night I now have to go to the ladies room. Not ideal. I'd say if you had a whole bed to yourself (ours is a Queen, so it's not super roomy, as-is), you'd probably find the Snoogle a lot less frustrating in the middle of the night. But, beware: active sleepers with sleeping partners and especially pregnant ladies who need to get up quite often in the night, the Snoogle might be more trouble than it's worth. I've only slept one night through with it (the first night I got it). One of the other contributing factors, which has made my Snoogle solely a tool to use when awake: the curled portion meant to replace your usual pillow is much too firm, for me. It gave me a neck ache and there's really not an option for not using that portion as intended that is comfortable and easy. If you're not one for sleeping on firm, big pillows nightly, the Snoogle is definitely going to present a problem. As a side note: purely aesthetically, the Snoogle is a bit strange to have around after the bed's made and things are looking ship shape in the bedroom. It's the size of a person and it just sort of lays there, large and in charge, like a giant elephant in the room, no matter where you put it. If you care about keeping a tidy place, the Snoogle is a bit of an eyesore. We just heap it at the bottom of the bed, but I have to admit I'm looking forward to the day when I can mostly store this guy in a closet.

Amazing support and flexibility
This is the pregnant lady's snuggle pillow! My husband (I'm reviewing the pillow from his account as he ordered it) ordered this pillow for me based on the reviews and after looking at several pillows. I wanted one pillow so I would not have to move several pillows each time I moved at night. This pillow is perfect for me. I am 5' 7" and around 160lbs at the beginning of pregnancy. I believe the Snoogle will work for taller or shorter and heavier or lighter persons (my hubby likes it and he is much taller and heavier than I!). Perhaps, if you are very petite, this pillow may be too big or bulky for you. The pillow is supportive firm but still soft enough to be flexible and twisted into other uses. I was surprised that this is now my all around the house pillow for back support, lounging, and sleep. It can be twisted into a pile for leaning on, used in my prenatal yoga, used to elevate me at night when heartburn acts up, and, after baby is here, I think it will work just fine as back support and a breast feeding pillow especially when in bed. I like to use the long side of the Snoogle against my belly. The pillow is not too thick between my legs for leg support while sleeping (if you are worried about this, you can always pull it up to between your thighs or put your knees around the long side and your feet under the curl at the end for some support but not too much thickness). It is not too thick under my head and neck and is wide enough for neck and head support while sleeping (and I have a long neck). I literally can curl up with this pillow and stretch out with it. However you like to sleep, this pillow helps you sleep comfy while dealing with the growing belly. Addtionally, this is not my first body support pillow. I have used basic body pillows, leg support pillows, and special neck and head support pillows for years due to neck and back issues. I do not like the basic body pillows. I was actually concerned to give up my usual leg support and special neck pillow and switch to this, but I was tired of adjusting the leg pillow and felt that it was no longer providing me the support I needed as my body grew. I immediately noticed a difference in my sleeping position and a decrease in my aches and pains upon receiving and using this pillow. My hips and legs align better and keep properly supported throughout the night. My back hurts less, my neck is more comfortable, and I do not need to adjust the pillow at night once I get comfortable and fall asleep. It did take a couple days or so to adjust to the Snoogle and find the best position for it and me, but that is normal with any new body support pillow. Now, I honestly think I will not go back after pregnancy to any other pillow. Also, my hubby loves it for several reasons. I toss and turn less at night than before the pillow. I settle into a sleeping position faster and sleep longer with the pillow. I do not evade his side of the bed! The Snoogle keeps me from shifting and moving across the bed. With the long side in the middle of the bed, he does not worry about bumping the belly while he sleeps even if the belly is near him. One night, he threatened to steal my Snoogle for himself, in fact, because he took a nap and discovered that it is an amazing pillow even for a big and tall guy! The only downside for me is the design of the pillow cover that comes on the Snoogle. (I considered giving 4 instead of 5 stars due to the cover that comes on the Snoogle.) I would recommend spending the bit more money for a zippered cover for the Snoogle. I really wish the Snoogle came with a zippered cover. The cover that comes with the Snoogle is nearly impossible to remove, and, once off, I cannot imagine getting it back on the pillow (I had a very hard time getting it partly off!). Imagine trying to get this entire pillow into a tight sock and then cuffing the sock over the end of the pillow--that would describe the cover on the pillow. The zippered pillow covers zip on and off with very little work to push the pillow into the ends. The zippered cover is pretty easy and only took me a few minutes at most to do. So, that is the downside--the extra cover is extra money.

Love this pillow!
Update: I have had this pillow for over 2 years now. I still use it! I used it when I would nurse my daughter. It was great back support while we would lay down together. She sleeps with me mosts nights and it still gets use as a barrier on the edge of the bed. For the most part, I really like this pillow. I'm 19 weeks and for someone who doesn't sleep well in the first place I was hoping this would make the pregnancy sleeping more comfortable. Especially since I was learning to side sleep (I'm a stomach sleeper and it was getting uncomfortable). At first, I didn't like it. I didn't know how to sleep with it comfortably. The head part is a bit firmer than my pillow and was still adjusting to something new. After a couple nights I started to figure out my favorite postions and I started getting use to the feel of the pillow. I was still having a hard time adjusting from my head pillow to the snoogle. I learned I can twist the head part to make an "S" and I would use my pillow in its place. It actually worked well for me, except the snoogle would eventually get pushed away because it wasn't cradled in it. I've had the pillow for 3 weeks now and I am very comfortable and happy with it! I sleep with it every night and have been getting restful nights. I had to try many different positions and nights figuring it out, but like I said, I didn't sleep well before. I can sleep on my left side almost the entire night and I'm so comfortable with it now. My favorite position is with the long part on my belly and keep the bottom by my lower thigh right by my knees and hug it. I feel like it's helped with my hips too. I love being cradled in it.

Works really well, but inconvenient, bulky, and pricey - also, buy with a zip-up pillowcase
I'm 8 and a half months pregnant and I bought this pillow after every pregnant woman or really anyone I talked to about how I have trouble sleeping suggested getting a body pillow.I have to say it really does help a lot in finding a comfortable position to sleep. That said it's not perfect. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out how to properly adjust my body and the pillow for the ideal sleep position, especially because the pillow is ENORMOUS and I'm only 4'11" (normal-sized and taller girls may not have this issue), making me think I should have gotten the mini or kid-sized or something. There were many nights I woke up with neck cramps because although I thought the two ends were pretty much the same, one is shaped slightly different or is firmer or something so it was too firm and held my neck in an odd position. Also the seams on the inner curved parts can dig into my shoulder in an uncomfortable way. It's incredibly bulky to carry around, even from the upstairs to downstairs room and especially for travel. That said, as I got further into my pregnancy, it was one of the only things that made sleep even possible, so Iugged the giant thing with me everywhere, even choosing to drive to LA from SF over taking the shuttle partially so I could bring the damn pillow. And the pillow case... if you read any reviews about they'll concur that the standard pillow case is a piece of crap. For one, it's not soft; and maybe I'm a spoiled brat, but I have sensitive skin and sleep on high threadcount sheets and the material on this pillow case made my skin itch. I often had to cover it with a couple other regular pillow cases because it particularly irritated the skin on my inner thighs. Because of that, and because the pillow case needed a wash, I went in search of a replacement pillow case. And they are expensive! $25 for a pillow case after spending over $50 on the pillow is such a rip-off! So I tried to just get a standard body pillow pillow case (2 for $10 at Target in super cute fabrics and really soft). But alas, they didn't fit and then I had to put the old standard pillow case back on and that is an endeavor in itself, especially this late in the pregnancy when my hands are plagued with carpal tunnel, both numb and sore, swollen and difficult to grip tightly without causing hand cramps. So yeah, I gave in and bought a replacement cover, the jersey knit soft kind with the zipper, but I've gotta say that a total cost of over $75 for pillow and pillow case is seriously overpriced, but when you're pregnant and desperate for sleep, you'll pay it. So maybe I'm nitpicky and overly critical with my gripes about this pillow which really DOES WORK but when you're spending this much on a pillow and the whole need for buying another pillow case is yet an extra cost, then i think they're valid. So would I recommend buying one? I would recommend trying a standard body pillow at an easy return place like Target to see if that meets your needs in terms of support because of how much cheaper and more convenient it would be (in moving the pillow around and buying pillow cases etc). But if that doesn't work, then return that pillow and buy this one. It will work, but it will cost you. I also recommend getting one that comes with the soft zip-up replacement cover (some sellers will sell them as a set), even if it's a little more, because you WILLL WANT THE UPGRADED COVER eventually and getting it from the start will save you the hassle of discovering how crappy the standard pillow cover is after washing and trying to replace it and then ordering a separate cover and waiting for that to arrive. Plus buying them together is often cheaper than buying it separate and you'll get more color and style options.

Best money spent this pregnancy!
OK, so I agonized for two months over choosing a pregnancy pillow. From reading reviews, it was clear they are not a one size fits all solution and I was so worried about choosing the wrong one and hating it. Finally, I got to the point (24 weeks) where I could not get comfortable at all lying down and had to make a choice. I went with the Snoogle, as it seemed to have the most overwhelmingly positive reviews. I am SO glad I did! It was the best money spent this pregnancy, hands down!!! From the very first night, I was able to sleep well with it and actually get comfortable. It supports me in all the right places (I hadn't realized how important under belly support is) and even instantly reduced my daytime SPD pain! It felt kind of miraculous, really. I was worried that I wouldn't like it as a head pillow, because I am generally picky about pillows, but it works perfectly. The fact that the Snoogle is a perfect fit...it may be relevant that I'm only 5'2. At 34 weeks, I still use it every night. There is only one thing I would change about it. The pillow case it comes with it scratchy and awful and I wouldn't dream of using it. (I'm extremely sensitive to fabrics.) It also doesn't have a zipper, so it would be a hassle to put on and off. I bought their 100% cotton (Chic) cover, with a zipper, instead. And while it is better than what came with it, I'm disappointed in the lack of softness, considering the price. I do put one of my own super soft king sized cases over the part where my face touches. Despite that, I would not hesitate to recommend this product. I really feel it has improved my entire pregnancy experience!

Excellent soft and effective total body pregnancy / maternity pillow
Perfect. My wife just loses herself in to sleep as soon as she comes to bed. She is in her 5th month now. She enjoys being with her Leachco Snoogle total body pillow. The size is appropriate for Indians. Material is really soft and good.

Waste of money
The pillow tore while putting back the cover. The cover isn't soft, rough and pricky on face. Irritates the skin, make you feel itchy. Stopped using after a couple of uses. Not comfortable at all.
